The FoxSport Fantasy game has changed this season and one of the changes made is that now there are Leagues and Groups.

You need to join firstly to a League. The code for Ruckers Forum league is 779772.

This is a Head to Head league. Each round you play against one diferent league member, receiving 4 points for a win and 2 for a draw.

Then you can join the Ruckers Forum Group going to the next link:

http://rugbysupercoach.foxsports.com.au/group?cic=530481

The Group's competition is what last year was the main comp and it's based on total scores.

If you want to have some fun this season join both the League and the Group.

 just for keeping this thread up there.

Some of the new stuff brought this year. About the scoring points:

  • Each effective offload is now worth 4 points, while an ineffective offload is worth 2 points (up from 1 point for any type of offload);
  • Each error now receives a deduction of -2 points (down from -3);
  • Each tackle missed now receives a deduction of -1 point (down from -2);
  • Each lineout error (includes not straight, throw error or jump error) now receives a deduction of -2 points (down from -3);

  • NEW - A penalty try awarded (where a player from a general play situation draws an infringement in the act of scoring a try) will be awarded points for a try as usual, based on their position in the competition;
  • NEW - For each last touch assist (Any final pass/offload/kick/touch of the ball in a try scoring movement which is not awarded a Try Assist), 2 points are awarded;
  • NEW - For every 10 metres run, an additional 1 bonus point is awarded (players continue to receive 1 point for each run as usual);
  • NEW - For each Counter Ruck (Player who is involved in driving over the ball in a ruck resulting in a turnover in possession. More than one player can receive points in a ruck), 1 point will be awarded;
  • NEW - For each Scrum Push Over/Penalty Tries (When a pushover try or a penalty try occurs directly from a scrum. Does not apply to push over/penalty tries from rucks/lineouts. Awarded to entire front row involved), an additional 5 points are awarded.

They have clearly reduced the negative points a nd add some new plays that count positives. IMO the most important the 1 point for each 10 m. run which will give a good amount of points to the backline players mainly. Usualyy the FB are the players who made more mettres, e.g. Ben Smith last year run 1265 m. (the best in this asset) which next season will mean 125 points more or less, a good amount.

 Saw this and was just about to post. I think the game needed upgrading. The NRL game is light years ahead. This means the quantity and quantitive analysis of points well be much larger. 100 Points used to be a big score I think your gonna see a lot over that this season. Heres stats for most metres gained last season;

Ben Smith: 1265

Israel Folau: 1187

Jesse Mogg: 1168

Nemani Nadolo: 1149

Israel Dagg: 1131

Willie Le Roux: 1077

Bernard Foley: 1057

Kurtley Beale: 1055

Julian Savea: 1029

Malakai Fekitoa: 1021

Adam Ashley-Cooper: 1021

Jason Woodward: 1021

 @3ku1,
welcome back, man.
now they've made it very similar to the NRL game,........ I think they have improved in overall but,..... we'll see very soon if they did it.

and some things are now a little bit more complicated........ like the existance of Leagues and Groups. Leagues are Head to Head leagues and Groups are based on total-scores, what last year was the main comp and you were automatically in.
I checked that you are only in the Ruckers Forum League. If you want to play the Total score comp you need to go to the next link:

Insofar as meters gained per player - I saw the previous consultations by Foxsport and they tehn indicated that the additional point per game is given on the following basis:-
*   A backline player who carries the ball will get 1 point for every ten meters his carries exceeds 100 meters in total in the game in question, eg if in the game he carries the ball for 120 meters he would get 2 extra points.
*   A forward who carries the ball will get 1 point for every ten meters his carries exceeds 50 meters in total in the game in question, eg if in the game he carries the ball for 70 meters he would get 2 extra points.
So even in the case of ball carries players can get no points at all in most games and my get extra points for long distance carries in other games.   Most players will never get bonus points for carries - even if they carry the ball for 99 meters - there are zero bonus points allocated.
I think you will find that is the way it works - once the competition has really kicked off.

 @mike,

where did you find what you posted above?
I couldn't find anything similar, all I read is that:

-NEW - For every 10 metres run, an additional 1 bonus point is awarded

and

- For every 10 metres run 1 Point

ABasque, I'm seeing the same scoring rule you're seeing . . . 1 point for every 10m that the ball is carried.

Either way, this rule is going to put a premium on picking ball carriers and should favour outside backs. In the past managers were tempted to make front rowers their captain because of the extra points they got for tackles but I'm guessing now they'll be more likely to make their captain an outside back.

This also means that intercept tries become huge point scorers!

 yeah, 2 seasons ago the hooker was the player who used to make more points and everybody used to have them as captains.
But with the new scrummagging rules that forced to change them earlier in the match (like the props) and the burst on of Folau and Nadolo, last season these 2 were the usual captains (and mainly Folau which rests a bit to the competition).
Next season with the new scoring, higher scoring OB will be the most used captain, no doubt.

Last year's Halai's interception against the Crusaders near those lasts' line try, e. g., would mean around 20 points or may be more (don't know if an interception counts as breakline) instead of 10. Too much IMO but......

I don't know where mike got his info. Mike, could you help us?

I think there is a misundersanding about the 10 meter story.   Before the competition came on line i went into Foxsport while they were discussing the proposed point changes.  The idea then was that the additional point will only be awarded for -
*   backline players carrying balls more than a 100 meters in a specific game; and*   forwards   carrying balls more than a  50 meters in a specific game.
That being the proposal for the change of the point system - I have serious doubts whether they would change the concept totally by dishing out points left right and center just like is now implied.
If you want me to, I can ask  Foxsport for clarification on the relevant issue.

 Fantasy Rugby back for 2015Pick unlimited players from a single team, trade until kickoff and win ultimate rugby prize in latest fantasy fun

Dream Team Fantasy Super Rugby is the ultimate test of your rugby knowledge.

In this game, it's your job to select and manage your dream squad of players from the world's premiere rugby union competition.

Playing the game is more simple than ever before. Register at dreamteam.co.nz, come up with a name for your team and you will receive a fantasy budget to create your own squad of 22 players made up from teams such as the Crusaders, Chiefs, Waratahs, Reds, Sharks and Bulls.

Each Super Rugby player is assigned a dollar value based on their past ability to score fantasy points. Your challenge is to build a squad that combines the best of teams from New Zealand, Australia and South Africa to form the ultimate fantasy team.

You can realistically assemble a starting XV that includes Richie McCaw, Julian Savea, Israel Folau and Victor Matfield - the choice is yours.

Your fantasy team will receive fantasy points based on the real-life performances of your selected players. Fantasy points will be awarded to players for things like tackles made, tries scored and a number of brand new categories for the game, including try assists, tackle breaks and lineout steals. Players will also lose fantasy points for getting sent off and missing tackles.

Your fantasy team will automatically be competing with all other registered teams for the overall Dream Team Super Rugby title, which comes with a prize worth over $5000 - the ultimate rugby experience.

The winner and a friend will be flown to Sydney to see New Zealand play Australia in August. You can also form a variety of private competitions with friends and workmates as well as compete against some of New Zealand's best-known sports personalities.

This season's game is an improved one from last year that includes a number of new features, improved functionality and added scoring statistics.

We have made the game simple to understand for beginners with advice on gameplay throughout each page, you can manage your team via your mobile device and even follow their performances as they happen via our live match centre.

This year there is no limit on picking players from a single team, plus we have implemented a rolling lockout that allows you to make changes to your team right up until the kickoff of each fixture.

Another feature is the ability to form a private group with friends and family that will run its own playoff system to decide its winner at the end of the season. Plus, if you create a group of five or more by inviting mates to any of our three Super Rugby games you immediately go in the draw to win $1000.

The other two Super Rugby games we are offering are Super Rugby Tipping and the brand new Super Rugby Streak.

Super Rugby Tipping is the most popular tipping game in New Zealand and is as simple as picking the winner and margin of each game, each round.

Alongside the traditional favourites, we are putting $50,000 cash on the line in Super Rugby Streak - the game that rewards you for predicting tryscorers. The jackpot prize will be awarded to a player who successfully predicts correct tryscorers in every round of the competition.

Dream Team allows you to follow Super Rugby like you never have before as you become part of the action - register now and test yourself this season.
