I have tried to make some sense from what happened on day 1 of Round 4 - but the following has to borne in mind:-
* Charlie Ngatai was withdrawn at the last minute. All of Qwaggas, Awesone 1, XQZIT, Wardad and Juicers had him in their selections:-
QWaggas, Awesome 1 and XQZIT - Kerewi Samu - no points Juicers had Marcel Brache - 8 points added to his total Wardad had Saili on the bench - 20 points to be added
The situation after completion of all the matches of Round 4 - but before the data has been updated and finally audited is at present as follows:-
Clevermike = 537
oimatey = 502
Saffex = 497Lightbringers = 493
Juicers = 483
Black Power = 469
Leaf Village = 438
War-dad = 424
Lukes Canes = 414
Unity XV = 413
Mighty Chiefs = 393
Awesome 1 = 383
Qwaggas = 382
QXZIT = 294
There is every chance that the following members will in fact exceed 500 points this Round:-
Saffex, Lightbringers, Juicers and Black Power
The following members are likely to move above the 400 point mark:-
Mighty Chiefs, Awesome 1 and Qwaggas
The improvement in the points of most members have been awesome and the situation is at present that we have thus far accumulated the following points:-
Total points = 6122Average per player = 437,3
The comparative figures for Round 3 were as follows:-
Total points = 5510Average per player = 393,6
This is in fact a massive improvement on the previous month and is a most admirable team effort. We must just make an effort to get hold of QXZIT and advise him how to improve his selections and that average figure will soon exceed 450 points.
I would not be suprised if our League improves quite substantailly this week - last week we improved from 10 to 9 and this massive effort should take us to a much higher position.
There is no way that the above point allocations can be regarded as anything more than the present standings. Once further data has been evaluated and added to the points of each member, as well as some replacement of players who did not play (eg Ngatai and Pretorius) has been incorporated and finally the final audit of the performances has been done - the picture can change substantially. Players will get substantially more points than at present indicated.
I will update this data once further evaluations has been done.

Unfortunately the Blues went nowhere. As per normal they battled bravely and found a way to lose the game.

Worst blues side in history. This is not the coaches fault. And its unfair to blame JK. The players are accountable.

Yes, sad day for the Blues fans - yet again. So much effort and dominance but the Lions defence was fantastic. Blues could not score point even though they were over the try line countless times.
Congrats to the Lions, they held firm, kept the score close & scored of a faf de Clerk quick tap off a penalty.

The jury is out on you choice of a captain - not sure whether Folau would make more points than Kaino did. However, I think you are up against it now and so am I. Saffex cut the lead I used to have in half and he still have James O'Connor to play.
Aside from O'Connor - he has the following players, whom I think are better pointmakers than the players I have - my players are given opposite each name:-
Sarel Pretorius - Sekope PekuCoenie Oosthuizen - Steven KitshoffEben Etzebeth - Marcel Coetzee
59 points is no guarantee he would not beat me - especially since the final scores of the Blues still needs to be updated. That could mean another 20 points to him.

3ku1: as Elliot got 66 points but was your sub hooker, can you change your starting hooker now for a hooker that will not get selected to play? Will fox then count your reserve hookers points? This way you would get 66 points from Elliot.
07 Mar 2015, 10:52#13
Im not sure I can do that JW. Tahs reds game has started and Polatnau is in play. Im leading my opponent by about 16 points. That may change though. Kaino gave me 70 odd points so thats good.

I am thinking of doing this for my hooker (he starts in the Cheetahs game). I have Moore on the bench (40 points). Might be risky though, not sure what fox will do in terms of the scoring or if they would block the trade.
3ku1: I just tried to swap Moore for my starter hooker. Fox does not allow this so that's that question resolved.
07 Mar 2015, 11:52#15
Yeah they lock the players once they are in play. You can only swap them before they are in play.

In this case my starter was not in play but my reserve player had already played. So they also lock the reserve player once he has started to play or when the game is over. No loop hole in that rule, lol

Am I correct in saying that because there are only six matches played this round - and some top scorers are in the teams resting players - that the members scores may eb lower than they used to be last week.
However, the upset results - the Blues being beaten by the Lions and the Chiefs by the Hurricanes - as well as the plaucity of tries in those matches is sure to impact on the total points scored by members.

Jacques Potgieter was terrible, dropping balls left right and centre. The amount of points he got is not acceptable and will cost me dearly. Has any player knocked the ball on that many times before? I don't think so.

" Am I correct in saying that because there are only six matches played this round - and some top scorers are in the teams resting players - that the members scores may eb lower than they used to be last week."
Clevermike: this could be the case but if the average player gets around 20 points then some in our league will get around 400 so not so bad. But overall it looks like the average will be lower, especially compared to the first week when several had over 500.
The Blues players may have scored some decent Fantasy rugby points because they had so much possession (same as the Chiefs) so, IMO just because at team loses it doesn't mean some of the good players won't score a lot of points in Fantasy rugby.We will see what the final scores are and the averages and see if we can see what explains lower scores if this is the case.

Scores are still going up, right now I have 327 (before the kick off of the stormers game) . If this increase is going on for the other posters we the overall average this week will be "normal".

I had a couple of really poor performers, some due to injury. If I had started Moore at hooker I would have done much better, I also have to pick a good 10.

JW is not QXZIT - he scored very well as well.
I want to correct you about one thing. "You guys are so closely watching your fantasy rugby players you dont know what is happening on the field."
That is really the worst crap you have ever written on this site. You watch all players to see where you can make improvements to your Fantasy squad - matter of fact it calls for much keener watching of all games and all players with much greater attention than you would watch all players otherwise.

Mike, Pretorius had a last minute injury so didn't play and JOC had a horror for the reds. Who did you put as Captain and Vice Captain for Saffex's team?

The captain for Saffex's team was Israel Folau and the VC Handre Pollard. Should have put them the other way around.
There also was the Ngatai injury that cause some of our League members to lose points.
I do not think that they should have played O'Connor as full back and his goal kicking was atrocious. Next week he is gone.
I will probably have to replace Pollard with Lambie this coming week and O'Connor with Julian Savea. Am keeping Naholo as well.
By the way I think Charles Piutau is a full back - not a center.
07 Mar 2015, 23:45#29
I did ok got 414 so far. Few of my players did not perform. Damn polatanau lol should of started elliot ah well. Reinach -6. Not good. But well see. Pollard got 70 big score. The only blues who did gd was kaino and tuipolutu.
07 Mar 2015, 23:50#30
Piutau played 13 for the Blues, atleast that was what it said in the team sheet as I didn't watch the game because it was on at 6 in the morning.
I'm fine with you getting rid of JOC for Savea, but please if you can, get rid of Folau he's not worth it.
If you want Mike I'll take over Saffex's team, saves you the trouble and I feel slightly invested and interested now.
07 Mar 2015, 23:56#31
Folau got over 60 points. Not sure how you can get rid of folau hes invaluable to any fantasy team. But thats just me. Ill prob bring in Barratt for Lambie. Bench kriel for savea.
08 Mar 2015, 00:50#32
Folau is also $550k which is better spent elsewhere.
08 Mar 2015, 01:05#33
Yeah but that also means hes good value. If you want to save coin purchased some cheapies. Then you can have a few expensive guns who are invaulable. Jmo.
08 Mar 2015, 02:16#34
There's so many outside backs available that will get you a decent amount of points that you can survive without Folau, not so much in other positions where the highest earners are going to cost you.

Piutau is one of my favourite players in Super 15, but he did play at 13 yesterday and that opposite the very average Mapoe - and it proved one thing conclusively, he is a fullback not a center.
I would prefer to keep Folau in my team and despite his price I would prefer him and Savea as OB and have two cheapies in the form of Naholo, Lowe or Kriel to off-set the cost.
The players that cost-wise really worries me is the center combination. Looking at the games yesterday - as well as the opposition faced - the performances of S-B Williams and Kuridrani were poor and Williams this coming week is up against De Allende. My suspicion is that he would not be of any value against De Allende and I will have to change the center pairing this coming week by bringing in De Allende and getting rid of either Williams or Kuridrani. That in itself will represent a major cost saving.
I will have to find a replacement for Pollard this weekend as well - so maybe Leali'ifano may come into the picture with Pollard being benched. Wish I can afford Foley - but that is very, very unlikely.
The rest of the players I am perfectly happy with - other than perhaps bringing in S Moore.
Now that saffex's team is settled - I do not mind continuing doing his selections.
08 Mar 2015, 08:35#36
I well prob bring in Barratt for pollard. Canes well smash the blues haha. I wld persist with sbw hes a better player then de allende ahem. Unless are stormers at home? Anyway benching kriel for Savea. May bring in peranara for reinach. Benching polatanau for elliot. Bringing in hooper for lappies.
