Louw is a solid player, who is a 7 playing 6 and not very convincingly. He is much the same as Schalk was playing out of position at 6 and like Robshaw does for England. None of these guys are fetchers.
Coetzee, Kolisi, Carr, Kriel, Brussouw are all better opensides than Louw and Mtembu, Elstadt, Labascagne, v/d Walt, CJ Stander, Arno Botha, Jacques du Plessis and Vermeulen are all better loosies than Louw.

What an absolutely pathetic set of comments. The guy had a serious neck injury and significant operation and his first time out is the occasion for criticism? Let's have a bit more class.

I realize it is his first game after a neck operation and indicated that he did not produce much - although his tackling in traffic is good enough. My only comment was he ahs to improve and I am sure he will.

Of course ou maaaikie. He is a class player although snapster has been writing him off for a few years already (Ala Habana) preferring the likes of wee Kolisi. The mind boggles

Surely playing for Bath will allow him to get back to match fitness, as well as the few tests before the RWC. Also, just because I like Louw, he wouldn't necessarily be my in my first choice loose trio.

Blikkies, there is more than enough time for him to get match fit and i really hope Alberts get properly fit as well. We need these guys, like it or not. I agree that Meyer tends to be a bit too conservative in picking old players, but most of the ones he picked performed well. There is no way you can start blooding new starters less than a year out to RWC.We do have problems in certain positions and I'm hoping for someone to come to the party in the S14, especially at 3, 9 and 13, but we can be sure that the team we saw this year are the team that will pla at th RWC. Someone will have to force their way in big time to still make it. Im afraid that the JJ fans will have to except that his ship has sailed.
