Well done Munster, best team on the day. Showed how to play knock out rugby. No razzle dazzle.

The pitch didn't suit the Stormers chicken shit step players.

Manie fucked up in the final quarter and missed a critical penalty attempt. He is not World Cup Material. Really struggled with the pleasure.

Stormers look tired today

Well done Munster…..Stormers resorted to poor kicking in the second half and never could handle the high ball. A lot of learning in this game, very few Stormers looked like WC warriors. Our front row once again did nothing, where was Ox when we needed him.

Libbok panicked several times. Jantjies was hopeless. I actually thought Roos had a good game.

But an epic win for Munster.

Well if Jantjies, Willemse and Libbok are our best in their respective positions for the WC we have a major problem.

Nothing that they did in this final showed their so called rugby skills or class in this game.

If WEE PEE are the top team in SA rugby, rugby in SA has lost out.

What a shame.

The game on TV prior to the final between Griquas and Free State was more enjoyable.

What a dismal performance from WEE PEE.

Jantjies, Willemse and Libbok should be nowhere near a Springbok call up for the RWC.

Not international world class players as per their performances in this final in my opinion.

Agree, Willemse, Jantjies and Libbok folded tonight, putting the team under massive pressure. So many balls were kicked away.

Munster played a very physical game and the Stormers couldn't not get any possessions or momentum. Worst of all was the decision making by these three.

Jantjies trying to grab a ball through. Libbok taking way too much time to clear.

These player rely on being able to beat the defender but simply couldn't do to the quality of the opposition and the poor pitch.

Connor Murray rolled back the years and played a masterful kicking game. Fikatoa was another solid midfielder that dominated the tackles.

RG made a massive difference with his off loading skills.

But master was great moving the ball, kept their passes short and us d a few balls to by passing it back at angle and stretching the defense.

Dyamani was nowhere tonight and so was Fourie. They were simply out muscled. We only got one turn over, Fourie got tackles ball and all.

Stormers only started to get momentum once bot of them went off

These are open field runners. I tried to warn you all last year, but you didn't want to know. These are not players who can unlock defences, they need passive defences that allow them to run at to pad the stats sheets and poor line integrity. Look at Willie and how he challenges the line and creates an opening, you will never see Willemse, Libbok et al do that. Heck, even Am has fallen into this sterile kind of play. The Irish in particular have very disciplined line integrity, and we don't have a team who can unlock it. As things stand, we need lopsided penalty counts and to fragment the game and some open space. It doesn't have to be this way, but Erasputin knows better, apparently. Right now, the pseudo fans want a team made up of thoughtless lightweight runners, with no distribution skills and no ability to read play and few plodders who are looking unfit for static phase play. I don't think I've ever seen such an unbalanced Bok side before.

Better put in this order
Munster played a very physical game and the Stormers couldn't not get any possessions or momentum.

It is quite common for these positions to suffer any time a team suffered that much in front.
Stated many times: SA rugby are lagging by lightyears, they can not play attacking rugby.Unsurprisingly, delusion was sustained by relying on games that the opponent side did not commit to play fully.
Anytime such an opposition happened, SA rugby were exposed.

And the joy of blaming it on quota players (the life belt for SA rugby supporters) ensures the collective problem will never be addressed.
So back to the usual, can not do otherwise: the penalty milking machine.

Actually to me the flashing red light was the complete inability of Kitshoff and Malherbe to put any pressure on the Irish scrum.

Mozart raises an interesting point. We don't have a dominant scrumming front row. At their best, Kits and Mal were the best props around the field, and that boosted our breakdown presence. They look jaded in that area of play and they are not going to be monsters at scrum time.

AJ, the only SA opposition to beat them was the Lions and that was back in the beginning of 2021...they weren't at their best on Saturday,  but they're still a good team.

It was quite obvious what the issue was. The poor underfoot completely nullified the Stormers who still tried to play it wide but mostly looked like they were treading water The likes of du Plessis, Willemse, Libbok etc had zero zip to anything they did Munster who are used to playing in heavy underfoot conditions played it short and narrow with short passing amongst the backs and forwards Their kicking game was better and the Stormers were poor under the high ball Munster played the conditions better Moz it’s pretty obvious why Kitshoff and Malherbe only achieved parity they had useless Orie behind them and not to forget the no grunt in Fourie and Dyamani

Munster would not have been use to playing on a pitch that bad. Yeah its true they would probably have more experience with a heavier pitch but that pitch was literally disintegrating underfoot which is not something most teams would have anything but the odd experience with. Aside from which Stormers had 5 URC matches in a row on the pitch, maybe more with the Currie Cup, they should have been more use too i t.
