Don't you think Greyling should be nominated by New Zealand as Rugby Player of the Year?   He was by the proverbial mile the best New Zealand Player on dispaly on Saturday - worth his weight in gold to them.   OIops - that would empty the New Zealand Treasury - the bugger is really not worth that much.

Seriously now - if Bryce Lawrence can be Referee of the Year, then surely Greyling could be nominated as Player of the Year!!!!!!!!!! :)

Ek More than 5 points - he was standinga round in the backline in the maul that led to Smith's try - nearer to the point of play - Smith would never have gotten through.   So make that 13 points at minimum.   Bad news that guy - no playing sense whatsoever.

Just a question to the members

When Greyling got yellow-arded - Beast had to return to play.  Could Meyer not keep Beast on the field of play - when the yellow-card suspension was completed?   Do'nt exactly know what the law is in that regard.   If that was possible we could have won the game - but Meyer apparently wants a disaster on the field and he got one.   Must have been a bitter pill for him to apologie to McCaw after the game for his disgusting play - but that should teach him not to select idiots in the squad.

And don't please say Meyer did not know what would happen.  He should have known that Greyling is useless - even if he looked at Super 15 and Greyling's penalty recoird in that series.

Along with the penalties he gave away, the try that he gave away by pretending to be defender, he also butchered an allmost certain try-right in front of the try line.  I though that Werner Kruger was the worst bok I have ever seen, but Greyling is worse....

Why does Meyer keep choosing sub-standard players from the Bulls?

I forgot about that piece of rubbish by Greyling.   OK - he cost the Springboks 20 points.   Must be the biggest flop ever in the history of the Springboks.

IMO greyling wasnt the one to blame for aaron smiths try, goosen was.

mere moments before smith recieved the ball and ran away to carve up the three Boks, goosen was right by the fringe of the ruck that smith darts down. goosen then looks to his left and quickly runs to add numbers on the backline, he then rdoes one hell of a basic schoolboy error, he runs with his back turned on the play.

while goosen is doing this, greyling looked to me to be running into the ruck (probably so he could forearm someone elses face), but unfortunately for greyling, the ball poped out for smith, who then did a roadrunner and left greyling sprawled all over the show, before adding flip (i think) and krichner to his highlight reel.

IMO if goosen was better aware of the situation, he would have called for numbers from his right to come over and aid the defence, before leaving the fringe with next to nobody there, but to turn his back on that ruck when play was still going, tsk tsk tsk, thats the experiecne factor i guess and something a player of his class will get right.

oh and thank u greyling, ur check from the NZRU should be arriving any day now, :P

Thanks for your comments - they are showing the highlight package now on TV.  I will have a good look of where Greyling, Goosen and Kirchner was in the Aaron Smith try case and come back to you.

Was a very brief highlight package.   Greyling was standing in the backline.   There was not enough cover around the maul - the loosies was too far out as well.   Goosen was standing flat in line with the back feet of the maul  about four meters away and there was nobody to cover short kicks - nobody directly behind the maul.   That I believe was the position which Kirchner as full back should have taken.   The latter is constantly out of position - so this was nothing new.   I think Greyling was not necessarily wrong here - the forwards did not cover properly and Kirchner was in the wrong position.   Goosen was in the position normal to such playing situations.

By the way Greyling does not need the check you mentioned - he gets paid way beyond his value by the Bulls - who specialize in paying dolts money.   He has the Bulls contract - nobody else would want him anyway. LOL
