Said no to the 1 million pound Japan offer. I think Leicester might be a better fit for Pollard.

Positive Pollard needs a reboot. He is better than the one dimensional flyhalf we have seen this year…..any competent backline coach would be a plus.

There were a number of players not up to standard from the 2019 WC squad  and Pollard is just one of those.   Amongst the others are Vermeulen, Mostert, and Le Roux.   Snyman has yet to play for the Springboks after 2019 and  he seems to have injury problems.

Those who stood out this year and performed well were  Etzebeth, De Allende, Marx, Mapimpi, plaus Nche - who played for the foirst time this year.

Pity we can't afford to have our best players back in SA, would have love to see the like of Pollard, Serfontein, Kriel, Snyman etc turning up for the bulls.

We would dominate the championship.

Although, just casting my eye over to Sale Sharks, they are not doing so well with all of their SA front line players though.

However, Leicester has been the form team, direct rugby

I have seen something in Pollard which bothers me a lot after his latest injury,  He became a Morne Steyn replica in not attacking the gain line and limiting his tackle count.    By not attacking the gain line he reduce the quality of backline attacking play.

Pollard is definitely not in his top form and the move to Leicester, will be good for his game. Also The level of rugby played in the NH in Comparison to Japan, will also prepare him better for the WC. It would also be advisable, that Nienhaber get another specialist fly half in the squad, besides pollard and Jantjes.

Pollard was such a talent when he came on the scene. He attacked the line in his very first game against the ABs and was directly responsible for 2 tries and from memory scored at least one of those himself. Since then his natural inclination to run and create holes seems to have been knocked out of him, firstly by Meier and then Harrassie & co. What is it with Bok coaches and their ultra conservative game plan??
