recorded the highlights of the first half?
Has anyone
Highlights? You mean highballs?
Shortest video in history. 19 penalties from a whistle happy ref supported by 2 SA linesmen says a lot.
I'm assuming there was a highlight(s)...yes/no?
Argentina played very negative rugby in the 1st half, and that stopped the Boks from scoring more tries from quick ball at the ruck.
I thought The Bok backs were more expansive yesterday than any game this season.
Kolbe was cutting the line from the blindside, giving Pollard an option to pass back inside. Centres were passing more, with less crash ball. LeRoux formed the 2nd line of attack
The Bok backs were clueless. How many times did they get outside the edge of the defence? Even once? Throwing the ball wide doesn't mean you are doing anything constructive. There was the main two screen play they ran which was punctuated by kicks, a dead end ruck or a wonky Willie forward pass that wasn't picked up. This is it folks. The entire Josè and Krutch playbook. The best and most constructive attacking rugby in any half came from los Pumas. What else did the Boks offer? The chip? It was embarrassing. Have standards and expectations been entirely cast aside in South Africa?
Must agree with you folks.
The BL and Argie tests never impressed any of the group of rugby fanatics that gathered to watch here at my location.
Something is missing. Sure they have won all the tests ( one which many use to judge the game) but this type of rugby is boring, boring and boring.
It is going to be interesting if the Boks do get to play NZ this season and then perhaps they will have a different game plan and hopefully a winning game plan.
Always hoping.
Rather boring , if you think it boring (I don't) than tears. At least we have been spared the wails and foot stamping of our Bok supporters should the team lose.
Now one only has to put up with the fatuous comments from mozzzz and the org as to how bad the Boks are ( the opposition is always at very low ebb when the Boks win of course)) and how frot certain players are regardless of how they play and the widespread praise they earn - eg Du Toit, Allende and Lood who are their main targets.
Its now reached the point when these two luminaries are desperately hoping for a Bok loss; something that must inevitably happen. Then they will be all over us like a nasty rash yelling their empty heads off and calling for Rassie to resign!
Its all so predictable. Yaaaawn. Talk about boring! Give me the Boks beating all comers, as has happened recently, over these endlessly absurd comments and I am happy.
Obviously no side is perfect, we all should know that, and obviously I hope the team continues to grow and improve.
There is no sense in knocking winning form, it's the results that matter and as far as the Boks and Rassie is concerned it's mission accomplished. They're in a nice space at the moment, great set pieces, great defence and a great set of forwards and a awesome bench and lets not forget great individuals as well like Pollard, Etzebeth, Marks, Kolbe etc
Looking ahead the Boks need to evolve, they have to if they are to remain a success, other teams will evolve and if the Boks don't and stick with their current basic strategies they'll be hung out to dry. The Boks need to keep their foot on the pedal and stay ahead of the game. As coach I would retain their defence, build on the set pieces, reduce the amount of box kicking and replace it with a high tempo ball in hand approach where forwards and backs link in attack as we witnessed the Pumas in the last 20 minutes of the last test. As I've said, they're in a nice space at the moment, the basics are in place and solid, the time has come to rise to an even higher level and to set the benchmark for the successful future of Bok rugby. They don't necessarily have to score tries off set play, nice if they do but they need to keep the ball alive with both forwards and backs engaged at a high tempo.
I agree, Denny.
RC, WC and Lions tour in the bag.
We could perhaps ask for consistency but the amount of time that passed between the start of the RC and end of the lions tour is years. So, despite there not being plenty of games, technically there is consistency.
If Meyer or Coe tzee achieved the above then I'd have been just as happy.
Better attack off good ball, higher levels of fitness are probably two things to consider.
Doubt if we will ever be kiwi type ballerinas though. Nor would I want the Boks to become like the wee abs.
mozzzzz no side ever wins all its matches. Its never happened. I will be watching you and the Org when our next loss happens.
I can forgive you for your rugby foibles but not for your Covid BS.
