In a statement concerning the injury to Jean de Villiers Meyer sounded as if he accepts that De Villiers will not play for the Springboks again as a result of the injury and that the injury may be career-ending.
He then went on to say that Matfield is an excellent captain - and sounded as if his new captain would be the old and flat Matfield. That will be finally blow the Springboks out of being contending for the WC.
Matfield is not even a passable line out jumper anymore - leave alone being of use in the Tight 5. Instead of realising that - he is seemingly punting Matfield as captain. What a bloody ctastrophe that is!!!!!!!
