Modern and informed person?   This is a rugby forum and your approach on rugby is anything but modern and informed - it is stuck in the past and it is as uninformed as hell.    Modern and informed is the exact opposite from what you are.
From a rugby perspective you are uninformed and prejudiced and absolutely crude - a master liar and a dunce all rolled into one.
So uninformed that you are clueless where the term "village idiot"  originated from  and what it implies.   Ignorant about the performance of rugby players  and the greatest farce that can be imagined with an overblown superiority complex to boot.

Gosh well, the Byzantine's have even been found to have used that term, so it's a pretty ancient one.

But it was really Medieval European parlance that brought it into common usage. Literature and Historical Tract makes great use of it.
We all have one.....some are more dangerous than others

Actually no....the OOm says he invented the term, or at least can claim an application patent.

Well this is a very special case becs. The OOM claims to have invented the term village idiot. But if one googles it, there are 1980,000 responses. How do I break this gently to the Village Idio t?

I think he is referring to the usage on this Board, possibly ?
Did he use it first ? I have no idea.

Best ask Ceradyne to trawl his archive......although he is rather busy trying to distract us all at present.

Some of us aren't the slightest bit fooled though.....

Hahahaha. There would be quite a few egg faces around here if I really had to reveal my "archive".

I can see them: "Huhh, why didn't I think of that?"

What I actually meant was that they would have egg on their faces if they knew how simple and easy the so-called archive really was. LOL.
