The Sharks smashed the 2014 champions despite losing their captain Patrick Lambie to injury in the second minute, in the build-up to the opening score to Tera Mtembu after up and-coming former Stormers lock Ruan Botha had done the damage with a charge up the touchline.

Curwin Bosch, the outrageously gifted 21-year-old fullback-flyhalf, came on and played a blinder in the place of Lambie.

There is still some work to be done on his defence, but he could evolve into a Springbok great. He kicked an astonishing six penalties and two conversions, and scored a try for a personal tally of 27 points.

His goal-kicking is certainly as good, if not better, than his namesake of the ’70s, Gerald, the Transvaal flyhalf who kicked the Boks to a series win over the All Blacks

The unanswerable question, though, is: "What would have happened had Lambie not been injured?"

Hmmm . . . let's see . . . so Dense, you're saying that because the Sharks have a good understudy for Pat Lambie, that means . . . ummmm . . . that Lambie must be crap? Is that the logic?
Anyway, you'd better be careful Dense, your Master is on record as saying Curwin Bosch is too small and too useless for top level rugby. Better get your story straight before you get into trouble!

Ceradunce make some out-of-line remarks, but the moment his Master has commented quickly fall in line.   That master has made his choice of the Springbok flyhalf - it must be the following:-
1   Pollard2   Fat Fransie
Morne Steyn would have been no 2 and Fat Fransie no 3 - but Morne announced his retirement from international rugby - but is he another Matfield?
Remember Mozart believes totally that the function of half -backs are only to kick balls and that scoring of tries is a fatal rugby sin - so we better wait and see what he comes up with about Lambie, Bosch and others.  Nothing positive I can assure you.    

Don't count on it Denny......Lambie will be back calming everybody with his very presence. After all the man is the captain....hahaha.

 This kid should have stuck to soccer!  The Sharks Union will now have paid / will pay this kid millions over the injury period for playing how many minutes?  He is still a contracted Springbok player too?
I agree, give it up!  Young Curwin Bosh seems a much more rounded player anyway.
In my mind, since seeing him play at school and there-after he may just be what the embattled Springboks are looking for - a pivot that gets the game flowing..

Cape Town - The Sharks have suffered a major blow with the news that captain Pat Lambie will be sidelined for six to eight weeks.

Lambie left the field early in the Super Rugby match against the Waratahs when he suffered an injury to his back during a tackle.

According to the Sharks' official website, Lambie fractured a vertebrae in his lower back during the incident.

Team Doctor Alan Kourie confirmed that the pivot will be sidelined for an extended period. 

“It is difficult to say exactly how long the approximate length of recovery will be in Pat’s case, as he undergoes further scans today, but his return is estimated at six to eight weeks," said Kourie. 

Forward Phillip van der Walt suffered an undisplaced fractured cheekbone and will not be available for this weekend's clash against the Kings while hooker Franco Marais and fullback Clement Poitrenaud will also need to be assessed before they are passed fit.
