I have taken the relevant string to the top. The player Identified as Stephanie had a 4 on his back......I can't think of any other player with a 4. Clean up your act.

It was me who posted the image. It's perfectly sufficient as is, but if you are up for another nail to be pressed through you, I can post a clip of said maul. My advice, just admit you were wrong.

With regards to ball carries above, the number of ball carries doesn't tell us much. Only the frequency of carries. We would need to evaluate when and where these carries were made and what the outcome was. How did it fit into the Irish gameplan? Not every carry is aimed at beating tackles, but securely positioning for something else. We won't know unless we assess these carries. Until then, all the praise for CJ is founded on nothing.

That was Auge's pic this time round, not mine, but thanks for the nice words Moz. I try.

Still a great team maul to which everyone contributed.

Well you = AO = are too scared to post what really happened in that maul,  because you have been  lying about what actually happened and so did Mozart.   But them you do not know what a maul is - so we will have too wait a long time for a video clip.

I posted every kind of detail. The only addition I can make is a clip of the maul, which I offered. You, to date, have offered nothing, absolutely zilch, concerning any maul. You have the accuracy of a rambling drunk spinning an epic yarn.

Spare a thought for Mozart - he and that incredible fool AO thinks that a lock can start a forward movement in a maul with both feet off the ground and able to turn around in the process - idiocy supreme.

The jumper/catcher doesn't start the forward movement in the maul. Guys actively involved in coaching or playing can correct me here, but as I have always understood it he effectively acts as an initial barrier to protect the ball and help transfer it to the back, becomes the binding point and helps organize the setting of the maul. How is a guy standing upright with his back turned to 3 or 4 opponents binding low on him going to start forward momentum? Forward momentum depends on a good, quick set and drive. The fact that we sometimes see the catcher being lifted out of the maul by the force working in on them should tell you that it's not a position of power.

The maul against France lost momentum initially because France bound 4 players on Mostert as his feet touched the ground, gaining initial momentum while the Boks tried to set their maul. Once we got set and committed more players, the French counter started struggling because they committed only that 4 initial players, then overcommitted on the right to counter our drift in that direction, after which we rolled and peeled left. It was an excellent maul.

Mostert did exactly what a jumper was supposed to do. The success of the maul attests to that.

Pakie

Exactly - the jumper does not start the forward movement.   He has to turn his back to the opposition and be physically strong enough to withstand the INITIAL onslaught while the maul is formed around him.   After that he does not drive the maul forward - but has to co-ordinate and direct the maul.   THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM A LINE-OUT PLAYER INITIALLY RESPONISBLE FOR THE FORMI NG OF MAULS - RIGHT?

Now lets see what happened in that line-out and maul under discussion,.  Mostert was faced with pressure from the front by the French - with his back to them and by the Springboks from the other side.   So what happened - he was pushed upwards and both feet left the ground.   How the hell did he co-ordinate and direct the maul under such circumstances  with both feet in the air?

At that stage somebody else had to re-organize the maul and made sure it got stabilized and started moving forward.   Mostert was TOTALLY out on the contest and Du Toit did the re-organization and co-ordination of the forward movement.    Mostert rejoined the maul when going forward and was pushing the maul the say way as other pushers would be not with his back to the opposition as expected from a line out co-ordinator.

I am still waiting for a logical explanation how Mostert got his feet back to the ground when the same pressure forcing him upward continued?   How did he manage to co-ordinate the maul  with both feet  off the ground?   How did he manage to turn around and then join the maul as an ordinary pusher?

I THINK IT IS TIME THAT YOU OPEN YOUR EYES AND NOT FOLLOW BLINDLY THE TOTAL IDIOTIC BS MOZART AND AO SPOUT ON SITE.

Exactly you say, but you vehemently argued against this when I first said it weeks ago! You claimed the jumper drives the maul.

Now onto Mostert, how did he get pushed up? By a Frenchman who had pushed Steph up into Mostert! When Mostert was up, what did he do? He directed the maul participants to concentrate their efforts in the area where Steph was receiving pressure. That's when the maul began moving forward. Steph rotated behind Mostert's back and out of the maul, whilst Mostert re-engaged and helped the maul move into open space. The maul rotated and this allowed Bongi a clean peel off the back of the maul and for a try. It's that simple.

Mike, you are a disgrace.

I never said that dimness - the jumper c-ordinate the forming of the maul and engineer and co-ordinate what follows.   This is the biggest load of BS about Du Toit I ever heard.  How can he direct the maul with his feet off the ground - really I should not comment on this kind of BS . This is further augmented by the fact that when Mostert came down he was able to turn around and manage to assist - physically deficient as he is - to be an ordinary pusher in mauls.

When you dream up future BS it must be more realistic than what you came up here - dimness.  But then you a lso do not know what a driving maul is - so why should I bother,

"How the hell did he co-ordinate and direct the maul under such circumstances  with both feet in the air?"

With his mouth you absolutely ridiculously stupid f.ucknut!

Coordination of the maul is ALL about communication.

But in your case, I accept that you mistakenly thought feet were involved in communication, as yours seem to be in your mouth most of the time!

O shit the Trooth Fairy has spoken.   As if that works f#ckwit.   - that match the remarks of the other two BSters - but goes a step further,   Can idiocy go any further that that - doubt it very very much.   Shouting of remarks as to what to do - is the easiest way of alerting the opposition about what is going to happen and effective countermeasures will always follow.   .Will you eve pass garde 1 in rugby school?   Never on your nelly/

The level of debate on this site cannot go lower.   I can take stupidity - but idiocy is one hell of a long way beyond that and the Fairy, AO and Mozart knocked the outer limit of idiocy wall down and is now way beyond that.

To have insults as your only defence highlights how unarmed you were for this fight. You brought mittens to battle. Goodluck with that.

Now suddenly  the mauls organized and controlled by players shouting about it - we hear the grunts over the sir - after all the referee's microphone picked it up so clearly.   Ever heard - left - right - center = being shout over the mike?

Mozart start a massive praise song on Mostert in the maul and the idiots followed in full ways = only their level of idiocy reach limitless levels.   When it was clear Mozart was writing tripe as per normal = panic sets in and went from the sublime idiocy  to the ridiculous idiocy,

So what next is to be expected from the distorters?    They cannot go lower - and it is not funny anymore.   I have heard BS by them - but it can never went so low before.

One grunt for left. Two grunts for right. No grunts for stay the course. Three panicked grunts for "no one knows where the ball is".

It's easy, Mike.
