Given the widespread dismay at the draw and lack of perspective of a number of posters - here are some results:

Argentina is not an easy place to play in. The All Blacks last 2 games there are both tight wins. 19 - 25 and 20 – 24 Date Venue Score Victor Comments 9 October 2011 Eden Park, Auckland 33 – 10  New Zealand 2011 Rugby World Cup 24 June 2006 Estadio José Amalfitani, Buenos Aires 19 – 25  New Zealand 26 June 2004 Waikato Stadium, Hamilton 41 – 7  New Zealand 1 December 2001 River Plate Stadium, Buenos Aires 20 – 24  New Zealand

Against OZ

10 October 2003 Stadium Australia, Sydney 24 – 8  Australia 2003 Rugby World Cup 2 November 2002 River Plate Stadium, Buenos Aires 6 – 17  Australia 24 June 2000 Bruce Stadium, Canberra 32 – 25  Australia 17 June 2000 Ballymore Stadium, Brisbane 53 – 6  Australia 8 November 1997 Estadio Ricardo Etcheverry, Buenos Aires 18 – 16  Argentina 1 November 1997 Estadio Ricardo Etcheverry, Buenos Aires 15 – 23  Australia

Against France!!

Date Venue Score Victor Comments 23 June 2012 Estadio José Fierro, Tucumán 10 – 49  France French Tour of Argentina 2012 16 June 2012 Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes, Córdoba 23 – 20  Argentina French Tour of Argentina 2012 20 November 2010 Stade de la Mosson, Montpellier 15 – 9  France 26 June 2010 Estadio José Amalfitani, Buenos Aires 41 – 13  Argentina 8 November 2008 Stade Vélodrome, Marseille 12 – 6  France 19 October 2007 Parc des Princes, Paris 10 – 34  Argentina 2007 Rugby World Cup third-place match 7 September 2007 Stade de France, Saint-Denis 12 – 17  Argentina 2007 Rugby World Cup 25 November 2006 Stade de France, Saint-Denis 27 – 26  France 20 November 2004 Stade Vélodrome, Marseille 14 – 24  Argentina 20 June 2003 Estadio José Amalfitani, Buenos Aires 33 – 32  Argentina 14 June 2003 Estadio José Amalfitani, Buenos Aires 10 – 6  Argentina

Conclusion - Argies are not easy to beat at home. This was their big moment and they were up for it - so credit to the Argies.

Question is can they knock over Oz or nz at home. We shall see.

i can answer the will they beat NZ at home question with ease, NO.

as i mentioned in another article where i supplied the facts {and yes beeno i know ur allergic to facts, so u are excused} the All Blacks team playingin 2006 were resting 8 incumbent All Blacks and tried different combinations throughout the park. in 2001 10 All Black incumbents were not playing. now we know that the Boks were missing some key players, but not as many as the ABs were in those tests which more importantly, the All Blacks still won. :)

the AB played a very much second string side beeno so your stats are warp as allways. the french well are just french. if they pitch and play by all means it they win even better. they lose to the pumas one day and win against the AB the next.

I think people are underestimating how competative the Argies are. They have done very well at World Cups, and have claimed a couple of impressive scalps. Also, it is only a matter of time before they beat one of the Tri - Nations sides. They are very in your face and pretty tough on defence. I just think folks have not taken them seriously enough.

@bluebok,

i am definately one of those people underestimating the pumas, but as a couch critic i can afford too. as long as the All Blacks dont understimate them, thats all that matters to me.

at best i thought that the pumas would score a draw this year, but i thought it would come at the expense of the injury ravaged wallabies. i know the Boks have had their share of players going to the red cross, but like NZ we have depth to cover those positions, the wallabies dont.
i was shocked to see the pumas score that draw, even more shocked to think that they deserved to win, but thats the big game experience that the SANZAR teams have and hopefully one day the pumas too.

while the pumas have had good runs at the RWC, playing with the big three twice a peice is a whole different kettle of fish, Boks have a 50% strike rate at the RWC, but only 3 TriNat titles from 16, so everything the pumas have achieved in the past, will count for nothing in the IRC.
IMHO, i cant see them ever winning a game, uless the wallabeis field a team like the ones that lost to samoa and scotland, so its not impossible, but it is very improbable.

I assume that beeno is trying to justify the poor display of rugby dished up by the Springboks last week.   There is one issue that he failed to mention and that is that opposing teams tend to underrate them and send second string players to play them in Argentina.   Even the Grench tried that this year - and when they lost the first test this year.   They changed the team and the subsequent game was a huge loss by the Argentinians.

The semi-final situation in the 2007 Rugby World Cup was particularly interesting.   In their pool - the French and Argentinians were level-pecking with them as number 2 in the pool until the French lost against the Irish.   That meant that the Argentinians topped the pool - ending up to play Scotland in the quarter-finals.   Their wibn in that game resulted in them going through to the semis.   They obviously was outplayed in the semis by the Springboks.

The problem last Saturday was that for the first time the Springboks sent their best available team to play Argentina and the display pot up by them was horrendous - no stats can hide that fact.   Lets forget about those stats and stop finding oblique statements to hide that poor and lethargic dispaly by the Springboks..

Bluebok glad to see someone is giving the Argies some credit. Their home game against Oz could be very close. The abs will win in the backs I would think.

Mike please understand that the best available side does not mean its our best side. As a clue to unlocking this revelation just consider injured players who were missing. Mike it would help if you stopped making excuses for the abs - keeping the kwis straight is a full time occupation as it is! If you add mike, munched ragtad and saSUE (that seems a great order) you see my difficulty.

SaSUE  is simply making excuses. The abs were missing players like the Boks sure but he cant admit they almost came unstuck. Bwahahahahahahaha what a chest beaing kiwi!

Note how the French fared against the Argies.  Argies do not go to well on the road so if abs get a good win be too surprised and dont be too surprised if ou saSUE and brycy etc  wag their finger in my direction forgetting all I have just said.

Beeno dealing from the top of the deck.

@gay beeno, the one without the dancing avatar, just kidding, LMAO, :P

how are u today my bru, all good i hope??? :) anyways,,,,,i never said that the ABs didnt come unstuck, but when U say the pumas pushed the All Blacks and then show the scorline is hardly all there was to the story, thats why i mentioned the incumbetn All Blacks that were missinga and the multiple different combinations which were tinkerd with across the field, i mean jerry collins was the last captain of the All Blacks to tour argentina, how many people knew that head had been an All Black captain, even in NZ thats not common knowledge.

but like i said, while the All Blacks missing players were pushed, but they still got the job done, unlike,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ;)

Beeno10 the argies beating the wobblies at home is distinctly possible. A win over the abs in nz would cause national mourning.

Are the argies the sleeping giants of rugby. Time will tell.

saSUE the abs scrapped two wins so time you got off your rocking horse! Hahahahahahahha

but ben10, i love the view from my rocking horse, :D

i do wish i ahd ur imagination my bru, cos im not crative enough to even think of a scenrio where the All Blacks lose to the pumas in NZ or anywhere TBH.
it may sound a litle arrogant, but it is what it is and as long as my All Blacks treat the pumas with the respect that ALL test nations deserve, then we will be fine.
for me though, if the All Blacks dont get a 4 try bonus point win and stop the pumas from scoring any tries, then i will be pissed off big time. i dont want to concede any tries to the pumas and a 4 try win is a must, anything less is unacceptable. this applies to both All Black/puma tests.

GO ALL BLACKS!!!

Beentwit........... you just load up those kiwis to unwind on you and you lose everytime. As I have said to you many many times you are so predictable that you are laughable!

I give you one thing you have a rear end of a rhino that can handle the shit you get but I do get concerned about your "state of mind" it appears to be in a "state of continous confusion".........bhwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I get the distinct feeling that  you like being or having ridicule and arousement of the troops to help fill the morbidness, loneliness and dysfunctional lifestyle you must surely lead.

You live in a world of "maybe's and I hope and you will see and power packs you are "so predictable its laughable"

You just need to give it up sometimes but when I think about it - you do give the forum a great laugh!!!!!
