The following from News 24:-
"The Hurricanes on Friday edged the Blues 23-19 in their Super Rugby clash at Eden Park in Auckland.

The men from Wellington were forced to defend their line with 14 men late in the as the home side camped on their tryline.   But the 'Canes managed to hold on for their first win of the season."

I was really surprised by how poor the scrumming of the Blues has been.   The Hurricanes has a crickle paper forward line-up and the Blues could do nothing to exploit is.

So all five NZ sides are now on 5 points - - the Blues and the Hurricanes after 3 games and the other three games after two games each.   The Highlanders as a 50-50 chance of going to 9 points - but that may not  happen - so the Chiefs this weekend are the only NZ side with a potential of 10 points after losing to the Lions in the process.   Only the chiefs and the Hurricanes has met foreign teams and both lost - so the rest of the sides will still have to be tested against the stronger foreign teams.

By the way it looks like Milner-Skudder picked up a shoulder injury that would put him out of the game for a while.   That would be a serious set-back for the Hurricanes.

They rushed him back early and it's cost them.
Foolish thing to do.

At the end of the season I expe ct the log will look very different than it does now. Seems like there is some real parity amongst the NZ teams this year which is going to hurt their records, but they all have some easier games coming up.
