Dealing with my own team and also Saffex's team.   There may be some disagreements - but what I produced thus far is the best I could do - bearing in mind available finances.

My team

PR   -   S Kepu, S Kitshoff

                Bench :   V Koch

HO   -  H Elliot

                Bench  :  J Parsons

LO     -  P du Toit, R Arnold

                Bench  :   Ruan Botha

BR    -   M Coetzee, L Labuschagne, Michael Hooper

                Bench  :   Duane Vermeulen

SH     -    N White

                Bench   :   M Drummond

FH     -   H Pollard

                 Bench   :   Willie du Plessis

CE      -    S Williams, T Kuridrani

                 Bench    :   M Fekitoa

OB     -      Israel Folau, Jesse Kriel, W Naholo

                 Bench   :  Julian Savea

Next week I have to bench all of Labuschagne, Kriel and Pollard because of the Bulls bye.   Have to get a decent flyhalf to play and then go on the bench - but it is going to cost a lot of money.

Safferx's Team

PR   -    C Oosthuizen, S Kitshoff

                Bench :   V Koch

HO   -  Bismarch du Plessis

                Bench  :  M Marx

LO     -  P du Toit, E Etzebeth

                Bench  :   J Kleyn

BR    -  Jaco Kriel, Duane Vermeulen, Jake Schatz *

                Bench  :   R Bothma

SH     -    Cobus Reinach

                Bench   :   Piet van Zyl

FH     -   H Pollard

                 Bench   :   Patrick Lambie

CE      -    Jan Serfomtein, Damian de Allende

                 Bench    :   Howard Mnisi

OB     -      Israel Folau, W Naholo, Willie le Roux

                 Bench   :  S Sithole

* I battled like everything to get a full playing team - as well as to keep within budget.   The only loosie I could afford with a reasonable point tally was Jake Schatz. It will take some weeks to get where we want to be with players like SB Williams, Julian Savea, Michael Hooper and  Jerome Kaino in the mix.   I would have to sell some expensive players on Saffex list - replace them with cheap players and thus fund the players mentioned.

Hope the team I came up with is acceptable to my fellow-League members.

Good work Mike.
When you are able to get rid of Pollard or Lambie you'll have some cash to spend on upgrades elsewhere.

Mike just use the wildcard, it's better to get those players sooner rather than later so you can get more points also you can live without having a wildcard at your disposable for Saffex's team if you use the bench to it's full effect.

I was thinking of that one myself - but will see how things develop over the next two to three weeks before I will decide on that one.    However, in this case I am to be led   by the other members and if they think the use of the wildcard is necessary - I will use it.
Incidentally probably the main reason why I did not use the wildcard this week has to do with Pollard and to a lesser extend with Labuschagne and Kriel.   The Bulls have a bye next week and I would not like to lose those three players - because it would be problematic to get them back.   I would put them on the bench next week and thought it would be better to use the Wildcard after the Bulls bye.   Please note that three weeks from now all of the Blues, the Stormers and the Reds would be on a bye and it is before those byes that I intend to use the wildcard.

The whole reason you've taken over Saffex's team is to get the League up the Leaderboards. You'll benefit more if you use the wildcard now so you can get the most points you can for this round and the next, plus you won't have the troubles you have with the Bull's players and what not.

I wish I had advised you sooner mate, if you want I'll go on the website now and look at which players to get and make a team for you so you don't have to do all the donkey work?

It is good we are swapping insights to improve our league results. I will post my team later - too much hassle on the I phone.

The priority players are the following:-
Prop -  Coenie Oosthuizen         -    $160 100Lock -  Pieter-Steph du Toit      -    $234 400Back Row -  Michael Hooper. Jerome Kaino  $433 800 -  $307 000Scrumhalf - Reinach                       $265 900Flyhalf -  Pollard                            $386 100Centers - Williams - Kuridrani/Fekitoa * $400 100 -  $434 400OB's  -  Folau - Savea,  Kriel, Naholo  $550 200 - $460 800 - $197 000 - $115 000
*  One of those - not both, otherwise your budget goes to pieces

Total  =   $3 944 800
PLUS
We then need 4 other players to fill the following positions:

1 Prop - Kepu ?          $152 3001 Hooker - Elliott        $173 5001 Lock - Etzebeth?     $310 0001 Loosie - Labuschagne? $343 000
Total  $942 800
Cost of top 15 players $4 887 600
If you can work out the budget on the above and see where cuts will be necessary - I will make the changes.
The present system is so complicated I have problems in finding the players and their prices so as to work out the budget.
Saffex Present team value is $6 299 000
The trick is to find 8 bench players valued at circa $1 411 000.
Can you look at the budget for the 7 bench players - potentially
Prop   -   Thomas du ToitHooker -  Torsten van JaarsveldLock    -  Arnold                           -   $140 300Loosie  -  Cook?Scrummie - Drummond                   -   $107 400Flyhalf - Joe PieterrsenCenter -  Venter
I am stupid -  I do not know how to find the prices of the other five players listed.  If you can find it for me and tell me if the 7 bench players can cost less than R1 410 000 - then I will use the wildcard.
PS - JUST CHECK ALL MY PRICES TOO PLEASE AND SEE WHETHER ALL CALCULATIONS ARE CORRECT

Mike, I've used Foxsport before I you didn't need to do that!
Also just a heads up, I'm making this team on the occasion you'll use the wildcard.
I'll create a separate thread with the team once I've finished it.
