 Can you read?
"Rabada, Bavuma, JP, Amla and Philander are all quota players."
and then.....
We are just blessed that they are good enough to make the team on merit too.
If you follow that line of logic then the great Jacques Kallis would have been an unknown going by his earlier failings in Test cricket. One could say he benefitted from a white skin.
Quota to me means that a POC is keeping a better white player from being selected. The facts are that the current 6 players of colour are in the team because they are the best in their positions in the country.
And while we're on the subject....it is clear that there is a greater and bigger pool of players to choose from since the end of Apartheid to keep SA at the top of world cricket. There would have been a Nntini's a Rabada's a Herschelle Gibbs and a Philander during the Apartheid era. Tell me, when exactly do people of colour have their place in the Sun? Based on the past it's not like they were at the back of the queue....they weren't even in the queue.
And you Chippo I expect sh ould know that better than most.

DennyThey are quota playersBut they deserve their places due to performances not their skin color.
I still don't think dbdraad was trying to be untoward in what he said though.I kinda got his message he was trying to out across.
Anyway.Great to have SA thump those gits down under

Chippo, you got it spot on. I  don't know why Denny didn't .  I put it in bold. I also think that the word Q is an injustice to these players, but as long as this system is in place it will be like this. And yes Denny, the pool is bigger now and will still be regardless of Q. I think most SAcans of all races want sporting heroes from accross the spectrum to be picked on merit.

Peace be with you and have a jolly xmas.
Chippo, as an aside, the "gits" as you call them have 1.3m registered players and by participation is now the biggest sport in the country. The "gits" also have a rich cricket culture and were #1 a mere 10 months ago but have obviously been on the slide since, but what I'm going to say is that the "gits" will be back, they'll pull themselves up from the ankles and become a force at the top level once more. I strongly believe that too much  T20 has eroded their game. I often wonder whether AB's game has suffered the same fate.

I see the Proteas have been stripped of the win because Faf was caught ball tampering.

Day 12 of 15:  goes to CC.
What's fair is fair... Rabada did bowl a few beauts today but never picked up as many wickets as he'd like. So I'll give CC his glory today.

CC 2 - 4 Chiperoo

Day 14 of 15:  goes to Chiperoo.
Rabada came on and cleaned em up alongside K Abbott. Not often we see KG giving the batsman the bird, but clearly he was on a mission today, and he stepped up.
CC 2 - 5 Chiperoo

Final score:
CC 2 - Chiperoo 5

Conclusion: "Radebe", along with Vern and Kabbott were too much for the Aussies to handle. His ranking will climb. I'm sure he will either be just outside the top 10 bowlers, or he may have even climbed into the top 10.
Not bad for a BEE bowler hey CC?
