No Mozart
I am not talking about Pollard after his exceptional performances immediately after he came in - I am talking about what happened after he came in and got really coached by Meyer, He was allowed to start in two game in the EOYT/ He lost the plot in 2015 and as times go by Meyer's selections got weirder and weirder. In the WC he was not producing the goods.
No Mozart the fans do not pick teams and coach the players. Nobody expected from Meyer who to select and as said he got weirder in selections as time went on. New players came in and two tests later they are dropped even when they had relatively good games. No younger players bar Etzebeth and Coetzee ever had a change to gain sufficient test experience with Meyer around,
And I am still wondering what Meyer expected from Pollard with Du Preez passing the b all to anybody bar him at least 75% of the time.
There was no way that the players even the best ones ending up with no self-confidence and no confidence in their teammates as well. That was the inheritance Meyer left for Coetzee and he was even worse in that respect. That was one of the major problems Erasmus had to deal with when he took over as Director of Rugby - getting the team sprit back and implementing proper game plans - while refining aspects of the game like strategic and effective kicking totally missing under Meyer,
