If we take away the fact that Arggentina had home ground advantage, you then analyse what they did differently this week to what they did in last weeks game.
Though this is an about way to answer your question it nonetheless highlights and answers some what your question.
Argentina obviously knew that if they continued with the same strategy as they did with their last performance then they obviously hadn't learn't anything. So they made a change to their strategy and plan of attack and applied it accordingly and it worked and nearly bought about the downfall of the Boks. So they have shown in a short space of time that changes to your play can be conducted without any real risks being taken.
Now switch this over to the Boks and HM's theory and 'modus operandi' under the guise, history, experience and confidence that he knows around the Bulls and 10 man rugby and you can clearly see that HM is trying desperately to hang onto what he knows best.
But if what he knows best is now bringing us draws against teams that we in threory should be beating, then I would have to say that after 5 games at the helm HM has not yet settled in any way. However, in his defencce he is missing 4 to players that would have made a difference but the core players are still there and it is clear what style we are playing.
Robbie Deans was a great Super 12 coach but has failed to bring that through yet for Australia. HM must have the vision to look for alternatives and provide solutions not excuses.
Is he overrated only time will tell but one things for sure if he thought this week was tough the next 4 games will be like hell for hiim.....We desperately need to beat the Wobblies on the road as I would hate too remain 3rd ranked behind a weak Wobblies at the end of the IRB ranking year.
