Fair enough, my comment was more towards the "I have also said that 44-10 was flattering" remark in your previous comment.
Italy a threat?
44 - 10 and we played shit. Must ask one question. What is the actual standard of the 6 Nations
Nicely put, Rooinek!!!
I seem to have missed all the fun here.
Funny .... I would have thought an apology was in order ... and yet ... I can't seem to find it anywhere in this thread.
Can it be??
It should probably go something like this ...
"All Hail King Rooinek … All Hail King CleanCut”
"Please accept our humblest of apologies, O Great Ones” … We are worms, not worthy of you …"
"Thank you for honoring us with your wisdom … Truly your greatness knows no bounds".
"We the Eggfaced Chumps of this board are eternally grateful that you, our Honorable Lords and Masters, take the time to bring the light into our ignorant dark world".
"Forgive us O Masters. We grovel at your feet in complete adoration"
Sound about right??
Waaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa ...... Italy a threat ............................. Waaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!
It is just like I said. Italy were a threat in some periods of the game.
Snapster and Moz I do appreciate you realistic takes on the game. I thought the Itailans would provide a challenge and they did.
Of course rooitwit is now all excited as he looks at the scoreboard. However the wise, which of course excludes ou rooitwit and his fellow babbler clean cut, will take note that for roughly 40 minutes the Italians were on top in the forwards. The possession stats in the first 20 minutes of the second half were horrendous - we had some 16% was it of the ball and territory was also very bad. I have seldom ever seen such a bad stats. The change in the last 20 minutues came when Flip, Trevor and Coenie came on.
Nobody thought the Italians would win but they sure rocked up and highligted some flaws in our game. EG scrum problems when Beast and Jannie tired which was before half time!! Secondly, that Spies did not protect Vermark and is not up to it.
What was hugely noteworthy was that when Trevor and Coenie were on they got on top in the scrums and won the last three convincingly.
We need to get in two new props - Coenie and Malherbe. We also need a new lock. - for the moment Flip but next year Du Toit (Keep an eye on De Jager) . And we need a replacement for Spies. Loose trio from Arno, Louw, Labbers, Alberts, Vermuelen, Engelbrecht and Elstadt. Deon Fourie could also do a job for us if he is played at 6 - his best position.
A guy like Jaque Du Plessis may come into the reckoning by WC time. Quite impressively mobile for such a big unit.
Dammit!!!!
I thought you had been replaced by an alien with a brain but the mere mentioning of Fourie as a Bok loosie had me realise that they too decided not to risk their sanity, turned their spaceship around and fled for the lives.
Guess that's the last we'll see them round these parts.
This Jaque Du Plessis??? ... not sure I know of whom you speak.
Who does he play for?
Mike, Jacques is like Du Toit in many respects and will end up at lock no doubt. I suspect though the WC may come one year too early for him.
CC you your spell fiend type comment (I assume you are not that ignorant but I guess I could be wrong) are so reminiscent of rooitwit its scary!! We have a clone in the making!
As for Deon Fourie well if he can be Currie Cup man of the year what does that say about the rest - Boks and all. Reasonble at CC level opines ou maaikie. Bwahahahahhahahahaha sorry wise up - reasonable players at CC level dont become CC players of the year!!
Deon is a class act. If you want to play a running game he would be a plus. Best small loosie in the world.
