The following from News 24:-
" The Lions have suffered a massive injury blow with the news that flyhalf Elton Jantjies has to undergo surgery on a fractured wrist.

Jantjies sustained the injury during his side’s 39-22 win over the Cheetahs in Johannesburg at the weekend.  The Springbok pivot will go under the knife on Tuesday and it is uncertain at this stage how long he will be sidelined.

Meanwhile, the Lions also confirmed that loose forward Jaco Kriel suffered concussion in the game against the Cheetahs.

They have a bye this weekend, with their next assignment at home against the Crusaders on Friday, April 1."

I think that Jantjies will probably be out for 6 weeks or so - Kriel should be back for the game against the Crusaders.   This is bad news for the Lions - but I think van der Walt will not let the team down.

"Although all indications were that he would need an operation to correct a fractured wrist, he will not need an operation and will be able to play against the Crusaders on April 1 at Emirates Airline Park."
