Jarryd Hayne switch to rugby

...who else but Jarryd Hayne could make it into an Olympic Sevens team months out from Rio having never played rugby union in his entire life...

...speculation is he will switch back to league but his old club Parramata has already breached their salary cap so where to next for Jarryd Hayne..?

...RL clubs have only a matter of weeks to register him before this years cut off date..

...not that money is an issue as he will be playing for Fiji for love, but can see some of the big European clubs like Toulon making him multi million dollar offers for his services if the Hayne plane wishes to stay in rugby...

...alternatively a NSW team may also be an option so maybe the Tahs before trying to break into the Wallabies...

...can't see him breaking into the fifteen code somehow - speculation is he will go back to league with either the Knights or  Roosters...

...Sas, as you know Hayne used to play for Fiji in the RLWC before Australia decided they wanted him so great to see him going back ...he is a legend in Fiji , hero worshiped... says they want him in the team and he has Serevi's blessing..

..in answer to the question why wasn't he playing for Oz he answered ' they never asked me"

 ...can't see him playing rugby union long term tho... for Hayne it will probably be too slow, too many stoppages , less creative and less exciting than league , etc....am picking it will be a bidding war for his services....clubs will be tripping over themselves to sign him up..

...the question is who has the deepest pockets?..

...can't see him going back to Parra in a hurry tho due to the half a million in secret payments he allegedly received there....and the dust is still settling from that scandal ...

...as with Radarada doesn't make him any less proud of being a Fijian or of his Fijian heritage playing for Oz...just makes perfectly good business sense and with the money he's able to help his parents back in Fiji...so big incentives to play for Oz when they start waving their cheque book around...it's a a symbiotic relationship......if you play for Fiji yr playing for free whereas Aussie's giving Radrada 30k a game so it's a no brainer...that will be 160k if he makes it through to the next RLWC...easy money..

...but as Hayne has said the Olympic experience it's priceless....way back in 2014 Hayne was offered a place in the Fijian Sevens team if the NF L never worked out ...an arrangement made through his Fijian father so not such a spur of the moment decision to join up..

...but like you I have reservations about whether anyone can learn the game that fast and he may prove to be a liability to the team...we'll see what happens in the upcoming London leg...

...as for his commitment to NFL ...he was on the verge of getting dropped anyway, saw the writing was on the wall that he was about to be dumped and so he jumped before he was pushed...he achieved his dream of playing in the NRL so cross that one off the bucket list - been there, done that , got the t-shirt....time to move on..
