I suspect Meyer is not nearly as stupid as you and would have seen the positive in JP at centre as most have and seen that JP is fine defensively just as we know Conrad Smith is.

So what is it pooh, angry with you or life in general

Yeah, cause JP's getting plenty of write ups for his centre play right??  You're about the only one who thinks JP at centre wasn't a failed experiment.  Don't get me wrong I like JP as a football player, just not at centre, some mainstream media agrees with me, not so much with you.

No Dave the problem with you tend to completely lose the plot when someone dare take an opposing view to you - makes you look a bit of a cock to be honest, shame really as you're probably a good dude.

JP the best centre in SA? Wed, 07 Mar 2012 4:43 PM   EmailMore

Sharks coach John Plumtree believes that new midfield convert JP Pietersen is the best outside centre in South Africa at the moment and has backed him to challenge for the position in the Springbok side.

The Sharks boss is convinced that his experiment with Pietersen in the midfield has already proven to be a success, and he is tipping the versatile speedster to develop further in the position as the season progresses.

"He's big and quick, defensively he's very accurate. To be honest, I think he's probably the best 13 in the country at the moment, and that's a positive; but remember, that's my opinion," said Plumtree.

Pietersen started his career at fullback for the Sharks and has played the bulk of his rugby for the Durban franchise, and the Springboks, on the wing and Plumtree said that the ease with which he has taken to this new position is further testament to his natural ability.

He commented: "He's adapted quicker to the position than I thought he would. He's added another string to his bow. I think it's great for him to be considered at wing or at centre for the Boks. He's been excellent there, he's a real threat and the opposition will have to watch him."

Wow - thanks for the opinion piece from...John Pumtree  -  "but remember, that's my opinion"

This one's more recent than yours...

RYAN VREDE writes JP Pietersen hasn’t advanced his Springboks cause with his switch to outside centre.

I wrote in the pre-season that the move to midfield could rejuvenate Pietersen. However, on the evidence of what I’ve seen that belief was misplaced. Pietersen’s willingness to fill a void in the Sharks’ line-up deserves acknowledgement. But he has undoubtedly compromised his international future. Nine matches into his new role Pietersen has done little to convince that he could be a Test-standard outside centre

Dave that Plumtree quote of yours reminds me of the song:

Oh, it's a long, long time from May to December
But the days grow short when you reach September
When the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame
One hasn't got time for the waiting game

In March, June might have looked a long way off.....and Plumtree's quote might have been okay. But as we get into May the days are dwindling down to a precious few. No more time for the waiting game. JP has had his chance. Now lets get real.

Vrede vs Plum - lets think about that one!!!!!!!!!!!!

Months is nothing in a career. JP is doing nothing more or less than he was when Plum made that call a few weeks back

Nope am more than happy with JP at 13........not convinced who should play 13 for the Boks though. JP, Taute, JJ........in that order for now. Looking forward to seeing Jordaan there for the Sharks, he has a bit of Brent Russell about him but 94kg's worth. Bok U20 outside centre Pat Howard is one for the future. Sadie is talented but struggling for game time. Now if only de Jongh was a bigger lad, we could add him to the list as well, same goes for Ebersohn

Who's more likely to be impartial Dave? JP's coach or an independant member of the media...tough call.
