I did not read the whole article in Die Burger - but there seems to be complications for Roux stemming from the Stellenbosch Club saga.
Among others - one of the tasks taken away from him was the process to drive the appointment procedure of the Springbok coach.  This has now been assigned to a Committee of four senior SARU representatives that does not include SARU's resident fool Cheeky Watson
Die Burger is normally well-informed about SARU issues.  It seems according to them to be that Rassie Erasmus is still the front-runner to be appointed as coach.

Going from Allistair Coetzee to Rassie is at least some progress.

I get a feeling that the bigger unions are no longer prepared to let the tail wagging the dog. In short: they are gatvol for transformation actions not based on merit.

Now they should just tell the ANC to shove race based selections where the sun don't shine! Dare we hope?

I read that the ANC is using transformation to put cronies in jobs that will not oppose them. They could not care less about the masses or rugby in general and are just looking for means to line their pockets.

The system of the ANC works in a funny way - it is basically jobs for pals, but then the one who gets the job must pay part of his salary/income back to the appointer - normally a 20% fee  which ensures also that the appointee is protected if he fouls up.
All senior positions in the Public Service are handled on that basis - in other words a huge mountain of corruption without any regard to competence.
Competent people like Nene do not last - they are weeded out if they do not comply with the standard of corruption the ANC established.  The top man in the corruption syndicate is Zuma.

The following is the full report:-
"South Africa Rugby Union (SARU) CEO Jurie Roux will no longer lead the search for the new Springbok coach.

Roux has come under fire in recent weeks after it was recently reported that he “manipulated” financial management systems to favour the rugby programme during his time at Stellenbosch University.

Last Friday it was also reported that Roux possibly also benefited from bursaries he allocated to players when he was chairperson of the Maties Rugby Club.

According to Rapport, Roux was tasked with submitting the names of suitable candidates for the Springbok coaching job to SARU's general council, but president Oregan Hoskins will now drive the process.   Hoskins, along with SARU’s high performance committee - consisting of Kevin de Klerk (Golden Lions president), James Stoffberg (SARU vice-president), Francois Davids (former president of Boland Rugby) and Pat Kuhn (former Stormers chairman) - will now continue with the process of finding a new Springbok coach.

SARU’s executive council met last Friday to discuss the future of Roux.

A press statement from SARU released on Friday indicated that the meeting was adjourned to be resumed on a date to be determined.

SARU did not state when the meeting will be resumed or whether Roux would continue in his role as CEO.

Former Stormers coach Allister Coetzee was the initial favourite to become the new Springbok coach, and while Coetzee received an SMS from SARU asking if he was available for the job, there has been no formal communication between the parties.

SARU may opt to appoint its head of rugby, Rassie Erasmus, to fulfil the role on a short-term basis the three-Test series against Ireland in June.

SARU is getting worse and worse every day - they will be the greatest rugby fools in the Universe by appointing Coetzee as the Springbok coach - but will they care - or just continue and do it anyway.
