Siya is past it. His tackle count is low and his best moments are moments when he breaks through the line and makes a pass.

I think Rassie picked Siya because he had to have a non-white captain and Siya is the kind of guy that Rassie can dictate to. That's why he didn't pick Bongi, who I'd much rather have had as captain. Bongi would fully embrace the role and not simply be happy as a figurehead. Bongi would want to have an actual say in the team's direction while Siya would be happy to let the "genius" tell him when to eat, sleep and dance.
