Good call - just a pity they have useless Gold as the coach

Wardad, I think Lambie and Coetzee are both far better players and leaders than last year's Mr Anonymous captain, the plodder Marco Wentzel.
That said, I don't have very high expectations for the Sharks in the S18 next year. They have a crap coach and a pretty average squad. Can't see any of the SA teams challenging the likes of the Hurricanes, Chiefs or Waratahs but - if they stick to their brand of rugby and build some confidence - then the Lions will be a handful for any of the big teams.

Gary Gold will depend on Willie Leroux to make the team more expansive. If it works- he will claim credit.
Lambie and Leroux combining at 2nd receiver could get the back line running pretty well. We still need a creative centre- but maybe Lambie can play centre when Leroux is at 2nd receiver .
We allways have a decent pack- so the driving maul tries and penalties will be a key part. SA teams tend to do well, once they get their driving maul going.
I expect the Lions to get exposed- now that they have won a few games and relinquished the favoured status to be last in the tournament.

Lambie a small, slow chap among those who froze against Japan....Coetzee an effort player who is neither an open sider or a blind sider. Just another example of the rapid decline of SARugby.

The quiet spoken Lambie will show his natural leadership abilities.
Leading a Super Rugby team will no doubt benefit the youngster and could open further doors for him at test level.

Moz, Lambie was not great against Japan, as you love to point out, but please tell me, how good were Matfield, Pienaar, JDV, Schalk, Du plessis etc? The whole team was useless! So who cares if Lambie was also bad? Talk about having an agenda!

What part of "among those" didn't you get Bloo? But if you want further examples of Lambie cracking under pressure, look at the Irish test in 2014. Hell look at the Italian test where we were uncertain winners till Pollard came onto the field.
Lambie is not a flyhalf, but is a somewhat decent defensive fullback. He has no flyhalf model. Inevitably with him as captain a real "de f acto" captain will emerge among the forwards and it wont be Coetzee. These are sentimental choices.

I am not a Lambie fan myself Moz, so no need to convince me, but to single him out in the rubbish Japanese performance, when nobody played well, just seems petty!

Okay...well let me not be petty and add a few others. Kriel lost the match with his touch rugby tackle at the death and Coenie also lost the game with a number of searingly stupid plays near our line. Oddly enough neither of them has been named as captain of the pathetic Sharks.

Your prejudiced statements were to be expected. There was absolutely nothing wrong with Lambie wrong in the game against Japan in that test. There was a massive game plan problem in the series as a whole. Why don't you realize that the real crack ups in the Japan test were De Villiers, Pienaar, Burger, Matfield and the Du Plessis brothers.
I remember the test last year where Lambie kicked us to victory against the AB's lasty year - that showed really how he cracked up.

I just happen to write the truth - no need for an unjustified personal attack on me. I have not disappeared - did not write too many comments on the issue of religion and just condemned outright your apparent new hero - the disgusting Trump in the numerous rubbish praise-singing comments on him made by some,

You are such an abysmally stupid man. But do show me where Trump is my hero...and don't slime away old fruit, just cut and paste one comment.
