LAMBIE'S CALMING INFLUENCE HELPED SHARKS; NZ Herald

REACTION: PATRICK LAMBIE'S CALMING INFLUENCE ON THE FIELD WAS A KEY FACTOR IN THE SHARKS' 27-22 WIN OVER THE BRUMBIES ON SATURDAY.

The Sharks scored a try via Lukhanyo Am after the full-time hooter sounded to steal the victory in Canberra. The Sharks were 3-15 down after 30 minutes before they fought back to 22-15 lead 33 minutes later.

The Brumbies managed to level the scores at 22-all before Am's try broke the home fans' hearts. 

Sharks head coach Robert Du Preez explained that during the last few minutes of the game, it was the calming, but determined focus of Lambie that took his team to victory. 

"Patrick said to the guys: 'You have to believe that we are going to pull this one through.' This showed that the team believed in themselves, that they could do it. They played right to the end and that was very pleasing," Du Preez told sharksrugby.co.za.

Du Preez said his team improved in a number of areas in Canberra after their opening round loss to the Reds.

"There was a big improvement on the Reds match," Du Preez added.

"Collectively, as a team, we performed a lot better.

"A couple of things we wanted to concentrate on was our reaction to the breakdown situations, which was much better this week, our exits which were also an improvement, and we got the bulk of possession, which helped."

The Sharks will now face the Waratahs in Durban on Saturday and Du Preez is expecting another tough encounter.

"This victory against the Brumbies will give the guys a lot of confidence. Obviously, the match against the Waratahs this Saturday is going to be a very tough one, but I'm sure the boys will be up for it, especially as we are playing at home in front of our home crowd," he added.

His clear thinking lost the game the prior week.....  
Actually, though he did have a good game against the Bunnies. More variety in taking options including getting his backline running.

This is the kind of rubbish that passes for sports journalism in RSA.....the Boks have lost 5 of the last 8 games Lambie started at flyhalf, including Italy and Japan. So much foor calming influence.

This man is impossible.    Lambie suddenly gets the blame for two fiascos caused by the senior players in the side and a coach who lost the dressing room.   What a lot of BS.

 The original source of the article was the Source: @TheSharksZA as shown at the bottom of the article. It was published on the Rugby 365 web site, I mistakenly stated it was published in the NZ Herald.

 Still Plank it was in the NZ Herald - difficult to see how dim you really are.

 No - no retraction - you should not have made deductions stupidly so and come up with BS.  Du Preez no doubt made that remark - but it was ot in any SDA paper - but the NZ Herald.   What a fool we have here - the egg-mountain winner.

 The important thing is ,and you chaps seem to have overlooked this ,is that wee Lambiekins scored 40 points in the Fantasy Footy ! Sadly not for me though .
