Hougie was a shadow of FDP. He had a decent allround game, but a poor mans FDP performance

An impoverished man's F du P......OOm seriously you need to get a sense of humour. Your  absence of any idea of irony reminds me of the Tin Man looking for a heart in Oz....and no I don't mean Australia.

Mozart
I did not get the impression that your question did not represent irony - but if it did - good luck to you.
I had a look at the game again and there is no doubnt in my mind that Hougaard weakened the team by his presence.   I said early on that the prop were extremely problematic and that the other weak link was Hougaard.
Personally i think people should give up on him as well.

Hougaard is never going to be in the class of Du Preez, nobody will ever be, but he is not the player you all make him out to be. Take the opening game against the Sharks. He missed ONE kick, but everyone bleated endlessly how any kicks he messed up. It's plain bias. How many here spoke a word against Pienaar like that? He was supposedly the replacement for Hougaard in 2012 because of his kicking and we got nothing. Rewatch that Eden Park test of 2012, time after time Pienaar kicked everything aimlessly away, so much so that the commentators were mocking and jeering him. Not in South Africa though, it was all Morné's fault. There has to be a Bull to blame for everything. Just like Hougaard took the heat for the packs atrocious work in the England series. It was easily the worst breakdown showing I have ever seen from the Boks, and the fringes were left open as Hougaard was repeatedly a sitting duck hacking away for the ball as it slowly came to surface at a snails pace. The much vaunted Shark players had failed, but instead Hougaard was the scapegoat for slow possession. How the hell any scrumhalf on earth could have done better is beyond me. But it's always the way in South Africa, protect your favourites and pick out a scapegoat; if you lie often enough maybe everyone will believe it. I also loved that Hougaard darted back to cover a typical Bismarck miss to save what would have been the match winning try for England! No mentions of that. But of course, mentioning it would have hindered the drive to see Bismarck ahead of Strauss.

I'm under illusion that Hougaard has areas that need to be worked on. More than anything else he just needs time to settle in the position. He was in fact very good for the Bulls this year and displayed a much improved kicking game. One thing I can assure you is that he will always be a better option to the lifeless stodgy play of Pienaar with an overrated boot that simply hasn't delivered for the Boks at all. I back him as our number 2.

So Moz, are you saying Hollenbach beat Jan one on one????

Cuthbert NEVER ran over Jan - so that has got fuck all to do with fact and everything to do with fabrication.

As for Hougaard's service being slow and inaccurate - what utter rubbish - his service was crisp and accurate, but for one poor pass - FACT

Stop making this shit up, bloody hell man we all saw the same game you lot did

This sounds about as bloody accurate as Esterhuizen losing the JWC - its just bloody bullshit

Hougaard was pathetic is some cases on Saturday and just about average on others.  Francois Steyn is a joke and Alberts a loafer.  Thhose are facts supported by the stats.

Peace betwen member do not last long on this site.   Look I differ from you about Hougaard and the likelihood is he spoiled his own broth on Saturday.  With Du preez out of the RC - he is not likely to be the replacement - frankly he does not deserve to be.  Likely to be Cobus Reinach.

Oh stop speaking utter shit, he had a good game, one poor pass and one knock on resulting from a forwards arse in the way does not constitute a bad game you ignorant fool.

Hougaard along with the rest of the side had good games
