The RC normally comprises of a six match to be played by each team, In WC years the number of games is reduce to 3.
So since the start of the RC in 2012 we have two years only when the WC influenced the length of the RC - namely 2015 and 2019. So lets start with that and go on with further wisdoms expressed by our "experts",
The score comparisons are as follow: -
Year Game Against Score Point difference
2015 New Zealand 27 - 20 - 7
Australia 24 - 20 - 4
Argentina 37 - 25 - 12
2019 New Zealand 16 - 16 nill
Australia 17 - 35 18
Argentina 13 - 46 33
The "experts" claimed that the 2015 players were better than the present team and the present coach is incompetent and not capable of coaching teams - the attacks on the coach were relentless and vicious, same in respect of the players.
But then how do one account for the fact that in 2015 the Springboks lost all three RC games with a negative point difference of 23. In 2019 the Springboks convincingly won two matches and drew the third. The point difference was + 51. Did they know anything at all about the coach and players,
Other than the above our "dear experts" predicted that SA would be last on the log. Huge difference between last on the log and winning the Trophy. One wonders how the three "experts" would manage to explain that,
