Lionel Mapoe injured?

This article confirms that Lionel Mapoe is struggling to be fit in time for the 1st test against Ireland but gives no indication what the injury might be. Does anyone know?

Hard to believe that Heyneke Meyer never recognised this guys talent last year and now that he finally gets his shot, would be a great pity if he missed out through injury.

Hopefully it's just load management as that's what this article comes across to me, if it's an injury then I'm gutted because I'm really keen for him to start.

Always liked this guy and saw huge potential for him...a great find and phenonomal rugby back. A star in the making.

What a performance from the Reds' centre. Eighteen runs netting 109 metres leaving 6 defenders in his wake. The way he shredded Allende to set up a Reds' try was discouraging. Every time this guy touched the ball he was a threat, a refreshing change from the boring phase running or tractoring of so many of our centers. Having the choice between Kuridrani and Kerevi is a luxury we can only covet.

Geez Moz you have cocked this one up. Mapoe has always been good but this year has shown he belongs at test level. Been one of the best 13's in the comp by a distance.

Better than Kriel, JJ and Serfontein, no chance in hell.....but then again Serf is not a 13.

Mapoe is not a terrible player. But I just can't see him doing much against Oz or NZ. To me he is about Hendricks level and probably more suited to the wing. But I don't feel strongly about the whole thing. In the absence of any really convincing 13s he is a reasonable choice.
