The rugby played was extremely poor -

*   Morne at flyhalf neutralized the whole backline and he made foul up after foul up and that left the bulls without a backline; and

*   Jannie tried to perfect his technique of going back un scrums at jet speed and as penalized constantly,

At halftime the Lions were leading the Bulls 21-14,   Morne was replaced and the backline changed for the better and  immediately started to score tries.   Chris Smith, Sage and Libbok came on and the Bulls started scoring good tries,  Smith is a star n the making and I believe that is the way to go with the Bulls backline.  Gelant looked poor and it was clear that Odendaal was not up to Standard either.

Jannie was replaced and the scrumming of the Lions improved drastically - they even got a scrum penalty,

A mess so far - and they will have to look at the team selection in future,

This from SARugby Mag says you are lying again:

Cornal Hendricks scored a late try as the Vodacom Bulls registered a thrilling 40-35 win over the Lions in their preseason warm-up in Soweto on Sunday.

The Bulls trailed for large parts of this contest, but Hendricks went over for a fortuitous try in the 77th minute to turn the result in their favour.

Just based on the lineups, there were many subplots within the greater battle of the Gauteng derby and it made for great viewing.

New recruits Dan Kriel and Duncan Matthews absolutely bossed the centre battle. Kriel opened the scoring with a brilliant run off the back of a solid Lions scrum before Matthews gassed Bulls wing Rosko Specman twice to complete his brace of tries in the first half.

Another mini battle was the showdown between Elton Jantjies and the returning Morne Steyn. Both Bok flyhalves had a couple of excellent touches on the ball and with the boot, but neither can claim outright bragging rights (while they were both on the field together). Jantjies outlasted Steyn though, with the latter only playing 40 minutes.

Veteran prop Jannie du Plessis, who recently joined the Lions from Montpellier, also proved that he can still hold his own via a solid scrum performance.

Mozart

If you believe that BS you will believe the moon is made of green cheese.  Jannie was repeatedly penalized in scrumming and Morne helped the Lions by missing to find touch after those penalties, Jantjies was useless as well,   Morne was replaced early and it was after his departure that the Bulls backline started functioning - before that it was a mess.

I have to believe  the reporter over you I'm afraid....sad commentary because these guys are unreliable at best. What does that say about your reports? It says if you want any credibility you have  to stop imagining things and reporting them  as facts.

It was a shit game with oodles of faults  on both sides and that is the fact,   These two teams surely would be candidates for joining the Sunwolves as bottom of the log candidates in the Super Rugby series.    The fact is Morne could not even find touch with three penalty line kicks and his passing was shit - being intercepted twice for tries by the Lions.   He was just as bad as he ever was in backline performance and no wonder he failed at Stade Francais and was fired by them mid-season together with his dear friend Meyer.

Jannie's scrumming was BS and was penalized  at least three times.  How would you like to see a prop carrying a ball and it be stripped off him by the opposition scrummie?  That in fact is precisely what happened in his case,   The man should go and open a doctors practice or be the water bottle carrier for his team - a rugby player he is not anymore.

Anyway if Pote Human is stupid enough to select Morne as his starting flyhalf he should join Meyer in the firing stampede.   The same applies to the new Lions coach,   Every performance of players improve when real backline players came on - players like Chris Smith, Libbok and Sage made a huge difference to the Bulls backline.   When Jannie was replaced the Lions scrumming improved massively and they even got a penalty from a scrum which ended up in a Lions try,

That was the real situation and no romancing by a journalist would change that,              .

Well for one ... Matthews certainly didn't gas Specman ... not by a long shot ... Jannie was pathetic as expected ... and both Morne and Jantjies were their usual dull selves.

It's not as though we were expecting anything special from these second rate players any way.

They are what they are ... there to make up the numbers ... as the actual talent has left the country. There's no changing that.

Both Gelant and Jantjies make Fuck Face's wider spectrum squad ... and we all know how he loves to pick outside backs at 13, so we'll probably hear about the brilliance of Hendricks later.

He may even conjure a step off the left.

Defense was obviously not important.

We must remember that these players were there only because all the talent has left these shores ... in other words ... we witnessed garbage vs garbage.  It's going to be a long season for the SA sides.

I was impressed by Nkosi's strength ... and Mapimpi seems to have continued where he left off. They should both be the Goats wings with Kolbe or Combrinck replacing the useless Willie.

We know Kolisi's not much of a 6 ... and we also know he's a little weedy to be an effective test 7 ... well ... now we know he's not an 8th man either.

The Goat's captain ... totally unsuited to an position in the back row.

What a lark!!!

I agree with you in most respects,   But you fail to mention that useless Andre Esterhuizen as well.  He was as bad a ball handler than he ever was and totally useless - when he was replaced at center again a vast improvement in the backline of the Sharks,

I was disappointed in Bosch's performance as a flyhalf as well - his long kicks was useless and poorly directed and was mainly handing the ball to the opposition for counter attacking.   With a sieve in defense like him and Esterhuizen the opposition will have a field day in attacking.   The Bulls had it,  Remember that kick Bosch made from 5 meters out from the Sharks 22 which went over the dead ball line leading to a scrum at the spot from where he kicked the ball.      The same farcical kind of thing happened when Du Plessis was penalized in a scrum and the next act in the comedy farce was when Morne kicked the ball out behind the corner flag in trying to set up a line-out.   Unbelievable junk by both of Mozart's heroes.

By the way - Mozart and the journalist rave about Hendrik's try - bit what about the time he knocked on a decent pass to him with an open tryline before him?

In both games the playing Springboks from the WC squad were with rare exceptions like Mapimpi and Nkosi for example looks questionable.  I think that the other Springboks not from the WC squad was even worse.   In the Bulls-Lions game I liked what I saw of Chris Smith and Sage for instance.

In the other game Ben-Jason Dixon and Thys Kitshof  looks promising.

"If you believe that BS you will believe the moon is made of green cheese.  Jannie was repeatedly penalized in scrumming and 1. Morne helped the Lions by missing to find touch after those penalties,  Jantjies was useless as well,   2. Morne was replaced early and it was 3. after his departure that the Bulls backline started functioning - before that it was a mess."

4 "...his passing was shit - being intercepted twice for tries by the Lions"

5. ...failed at Stade Francais and was fired by them mid-season

I was actually expecting a bullsh!t posting like this from the onset... so let's answer it with FACT!

Point 1: It was obvious that the Bulls were going for the high risk options as there was noting riding on this match. No penalties were kicked at goal and Morne was trying to get the absolute maximum distance with no regard for safety... That was the instructions... - But I'll give you that one based on the mere fact that the ball missed the target...

Point 2: And so was every other Bulls player that could be replaced at that stage. Most if not all replacements started the second half. It was a practice match, 1d10t! - A stupid ASSumption from Mike Schutte!

Point 3: As most of the Bulls tries were scored off Lions mistakes later, and has f-all to do with back-line play. (A) Libbok's try was from a lucky bounce after a incredibly sh!t pass. (B) Divan Rossouw's 1st try was from a Lions knock-on after a KICK. (C) His second was scored after a lucky bounce from a ball dropped back-wards in the back-line and picked up by Libbok coming from full-back. (D) Cornal Hendrick's try was also from a lucky bounce. When a Lions pass missed everybody in their back-line... The only back-line try scored from structured play was in FACT when Morne was on the field... SO MUCH FOR THAT THEORY!!!! - An opinionated, but mostly proben as incorrect lie from Mike Schutte

Point 4: One intercept pass led to a try... The pass was made by Ivan van Zyl... A blatant lie from Mike Schutte

Point 5: Morne completely played out his contract and was definitely not fired. Secondly he had a number of other offers from other clubs in Europe, but asked his agent to approach the Bulls, as he wanted to play in SA... Another blatant lie from Mike Schutte

Point 6: Duncan Matthews gassed Specman.... Bwahahaha,,, Need we even say more! A lie!!!

Point 7: "Jannie's scrumming was BS and was penalized  at least three times." Another blatant lie. The Lions pack as a whole was penalised for early shoving, three times. Two free kicks and one penalty after Jannie had already left. Penalised once for a knee on the ground on the loose-head side side. A lie!!!

Most other people might have incorrect or inaccurate opinions, etc, but you blatantly lie ALL THE TIME, about EVERYTHING!!!

You lie even more than a US Democrat!

The Trooth Fairy is back and BS flowed freely.

Lets take the full story point by point:-

1,  The Fairy admitted I was right about Morne missing penalty line kicks,  Old shortcoming he did it frequently in tests as well when he was selected by the incredibly stupid Meyer as Springbok  player,   I couted it happened 7 times in nine tests Morne played in.  The last time was in the famous Perth test -a fter Meyer dropped him from the starting squad.   Needinga a braai friend in the 2015 WC series -0 Meyer called him back into the squad.

2.   The game was a mess of mistakes by both sides - by the Bulls more particularly when Morne was flyhalf - that being the reason for them to be behind at half time.   Poor Morne did one pass that was intercepted.  Miss that one because you did not wnatr to see what really happened - I assume.

3    Bouncing of the ball story now the norm - why did the ball not bounce when Morne was flyhalf?

4    A repeat of the lie in 3

5    Morne did not play out hi contract,   The season  ends when the top 14 ends in April 2020 and Morne was sent packing before the season ended,

6    Never write anything about that one - must have invented a new skyscraper

7    Jannie was not part of the poor Lions scrum and pointed out by the ref as causing the scrum to fall apart?

Happy Idiots Day - Trooth Fairy .  How easy to dismantle distortions of yours,    .           .

Haha, ou Mike in top form and the season has barely started.

his passing was shit - being intercepted twice for tries by the Lions

Too funny. Point us to these two intercept tries from Morne's passing ou Mike. The highlights are on Youtube, so it should be easy to give us the time stamps for these events.
