Former "Springbok backline coach" Ricardo Loubscher is set to pursue his career further overseas this season.

Loubscher, who served as the Springbok backline coach between 2012 and 2015, ended his association with the South African Rugby Union when his contract expired at the end of last year.

Since then there has been no communication on any future possible plans for him from SARU's side and without any coaching alternative currently at his disposal, Loubscher has been forced to look outside South Africa for employment.

"I would very much like to stay in South Africa and coach," Loubscher told supersport.com, "But since my contract ended I have been unemployed and as the only breadwinner in my family I need to find something else."

There was some hope that Loubscher's experience would have been utilised by the SARU Mobi-unit under the leadership of Rassie Erasmus but there has been no talk of this at all.

Given the experience he built up during his four years with the national team, as well as with the Bulls in Super Rugby, it isn't too far a stretch to think Loubscher should have a role to play somewhere in South African rugby?

"I learnt a lot during my time with the Bok s and I feel I have a role to play. But I also have to provide for my family," Loubscher added.

Loubscher has been linked to offers in Japan and France, but is still considering his options.

Only forwards and attack coach Johan van Graan seems to have been retained by SARU following the World Cup, with the rest of former coach Heyneke Meyer's coaching team not having their contracts renewed either.

SARU will appoint the new Springbok coach in February, with his appointment due to be ratified in March at the next meeting of the General Council.

Would anyone want our backline coaches, that is the real question? What exactly is a backline coach in South Africa. I am surprised he has not put out his feelers to the Stormers. No one can be worse than Robbie Fleck

The man does not have a clue about backline play and that was shown 50 times over in matches of the Bulls and the Springboks in the period he was the so-called backline coach.  If he did try somethings Meyer must have frustrated whatever he tried.   There is no way he should have been the Springboks backline coach and that is a fact.

Bullsh!t Bertie at work again. Loubser never coached the Bulls' backline. In fact, if you read the following, you would see that Loubser is another piece evidence that the story of HM only favouring Bulls players and coaches is BS.
Loubser in line for Bok backline job?

"Former Springbok winger Ricardo Loub scher is the new favourite to become Springbok backline coach for the forthcoming season.

South African Rugby Union CEO Jurie Roux was spotted in Pretoria on Wednesday for a meeting with the Blue Bulls Company CEO, one which ostensibly was to negotiate the release of some of the Bulls management staff for the Springboks.

But while Saru are keeping tight-lipped on the matter, and the Bulls have also not entertained any talk of their staff leaving, Loubscher’s name has been mentioned in the halls of Loftus Versfeld as someone being targeted by new Bok coach Heyneke Meyer for his coaching team.

Meyer was appointed in January and has since struggled to get the buy-in of the provinces to release staff to the national side, with CEO Jurie Roux undertaking the negotiations to get the best team in place.

Initially Meyer had targeted Stormers coach Allister Coetzee, who turned the offer down and chose to stay at the Super Rugby franchise, and the other contender mentioned in the media, Bok Sevens coach Paul Treu, has indicated he wants to concentrate on the Olympic role in 2016.

This has brought Loubscher into the frame, and the former Bok winger, who was coached by Meyer at the Bulls as a player, was then lured into coaching in Pretoria and has been learning the trade under the new Bok coach and Bulls coach Frans Ludeke for seven years now".

As you can see, Loubser was only HM's third choice when none of the others who he approached, were prepared to give it a go. In addition, as you can see, the provinces did nothing to assist HM in finding support staff. He literally had to feed off the crumbs of the provinces, yet the Bulls were slated when they were reluctant to, first of all, let HM and subsequently other important members of their coaching staff, go.
What is also not mentioned by name, but which is clear from the above piece, is that the age old race/transformation/quota thing raised its ugly head in the selection of HM's supports staff as well. Look at the names mentioned as backline coach... Coetzee, Treu and Loubser.
Now, if you read further, you will notice that Loubser was not that crap at his job with the Bulls either.
"Loubscher has been a highly successful backline coach to the Bulls junior teams, raking in titles in his tenure there, and was also the Bulls backline coach for the Vodacom Cup team that won the title in 2010. He has since assisted Meyer in helping the Tuks Varsity Cup team become a force in the competition and is currently splitting his role between Tuks and the Blue Bulls Vodacom Cup side."
The following may be a bit off topic but I think that it ties in with the above.
HM has constantly been rubbished about "his" selections but no mention is ever made of the role of the national selectors. Now some would recall the numbers that I posted last year about the representation of the various provinces in the Bok teams during HM's tenure. I pointed out, when HM's so-called favouritism towards Bulls players were blown out of proportion again, that during his entire tenure there were constantly more Sharks players than any other in his teams. Does anybody know who the head honcho of the selectors was? Yes....., Ian McIntosh, who has always had and still has strong ties with the Sharks. Coincidently, Ian Mac and Peter Jooste, the other selector, where also in the job since Jake White's tenure and subsequently also during PDV's tenure. This begs the question: "have the selectors not stagnated........?" I mean, the same two selectors over the span of three RWCs?

The real dunce is back with a vengeance.   So poor Meyer was forced to take the useless backline coach because nobody else wanted the position.  Did it ever enter your stupid bird brain that Loubscher was one of Meyer's favourites and would get the job irrespective.  Meyer had the same idea as you and your equally idiotic pal Mozart advocate - a backline is there for defense only and the ball must be passed to the forwards - a typical Bulls strategy used by Meyer as far back as 2004 - or to the fluyhalf who would kick the ball away.   So what use was the backline coach in any event.
The whole strategy was clearly illustrated in the WC and the backline was only there to defend.  So who would want a job with Meyer using that predictable - and may I add piss-poor - strategy.
Maybe Laubscher should join the other Bulls Assistant Coach at Northampton and do the same amount of damage as Matfield is doing as a player.

Gaan vang 'n haan, jou stupid moer. You just cannot help yourself. You keep on coming back  for more.
Read the f'ng article. Wasn't me who said it. In any case.....

"So poor Meyer was forced to take the useless backline coach because nobody else wanted the position."Are you saying that, had Coetzee or Treu accepted, he would have said: "Feck off. I'm going to go for Loubser in any case."?

" Did it ever enter your stupid bird brain that Loubscher was one of Meyer's favourites and would get the job irrespective.  Meyer had the same idea as you and your equally idiotic pal Mozart advocate - a backline is there for defense only and the ball must be passed to the forwards - a typical Bulls strategy used by Meyer as far back as 2004 - or to the fluyhalf who would kick the ball away"That, my friend is your own warped, sick, deduction. It just proves how crap your perception of tactical rugby is. Fact is that kicking is part of rugby, and has always been. What is more, tactical kicking and what you so fondly like to refer to as "stampkar rugby" has been at the pinnacle of SA rugby for ages. Wasn't it the likes of Danie Craven, amongst others, who on used to say: "Maak voor sag en slaan agter"? Coupled to that the basic idea of: "When you are in your own 22 (i.e. on the backfoot) the you kick and when in the opposition 22 (i.e. on attack) you run.

I once again refer you to a perfect example. The second game in the qualification games for the 2016 Champions Cup between Stade Francais and Wasps. The one where your big hero, Jules Plisson, kept on running the ball from within the SF 22, even when they (SF) were a man down. Yes, that one. The one where the (English nogal) commentators where lamenting for the SF coach to bring on MS to bring some sanity to the SF backline.

"The whole strategy was clearly illustrated in the WC and the backline was only there to defend.  So who would want a job with Meyer using that predictable - and may I add piss-poor - strategy."Are you saying that, back in 2012, Coetzee and Treu knew what the RWC strategy was going to be in 2015? Jy is so deurmekaar soos kots in 'n tuimeldroeer, jou p@epol.

Would you be able to point me to a single post where I called for a strategy where "...a backline is there for defense only and the ball must be passed to the forwards..."? No, you wouldn't. I have never said that.

What I have said on many occasionswas that when the Bulls were playing the so-called "kick and chase" rugby, they constantly had the top try scorers in Super Rugby. Added to that, the fact that the most of the Bulls' tries were scored by there backline. So take your allegations and p!ss off.
When you gargled the above BS, you must have been thinking that I would fall for your smoke screen. The one where you were trying to divert the attention away from your big mistake, i.e. the one where you thought that Loub ser was the Bulls backline coach and that he was a flop who achieved bugger all. Now wipe the egg off your face en gaan p!s nat jou vygies of gaan was die skottelgoed of doen iets konstruktief, jou arme sot.

This is a whole lot of utter BS again.   The whole Springbok team never had a chance to play constructive rugby under Meyer and his selection of Loubscher was sick as well.  You are the thickest plank I ever came across.

As you wish. So, how about Loubser's "disastrous" tenure as the "Bulls' backline coach"?

This from the guy who wanted Stephanie, Coetzee, Jordaan Reinach, Goosen, Jaque Potgieter, apologized for JJ and was fulminating about the new Sharks and Bools coaches who tanked in 2015.
This guy has one message. Every established coach is bad.....every player over 30 is a liability. That despite the number of older players in the winning AB team.
A loud mouthed fool.

 Mozart
I am not an idiot like you who access players based on experience ad age without any  regard to performance.   I never condemned the older players in the AB squad = matter of fact I said they were selected based on performance,   Unlike you - for me age is not a criterium for selection, performance is.
The coaches you support is a joke in bad taste - Coetzee is another of your poor jokes I am afraid,
When it comes to BS selection of players you support - your misses are much, much worse than anything I ever supported.  Just think back of Morne Steyn, Fat Fransie Pienaar, Matfield, Willem Alberts - and your national treasure Jannie du Plessis, whom you supported way past their sell-by dates.
When did I apologise for JJ - you dilly bloody fool.   I said that he alone was not to blame for the Barrett try and differ from you in that you blame him alone.   That is not finding an excise - that is factual,
I may be a loudmouthed fool - you are a proven bloody idiot.
Coetzee - I am LMAO - can't you do better?

Well I am sure he will eventually get a job.
Perhaps the Queens will sign him up with the proviso that he does it for free. That is about what he is worth.
Peanut.

Interesting that he claims that the xp he got at the Boks should stand him in good stead. Normally one should get proper xp BEFORE moving up to the national side. This is however not a race issue. Jake the Snake got the Bok gig without climbing the ladder from the bottom...PDV too! It seems we shall never learn.
