The present scenario is affected by the following report from News24:-
"The Stormers have received a setback with the news that lock Jean Kleyn could be sidelined for up to four months with a wrist injury.

According to Netwerk24, Kleyn sustained the injury in last Saturday’s pre-season win over the Jaguares at Newlands.

Kleyn, 22, would have served as back-up to Eben Etzebeth in the No 4 lock position, but now looks set to miss a large part of the Stormers' season.   Although the full extent of the injury has not been confirmed, forwards coach Russell Winter hinted that Rynhardt Elstadt, who is vying for a spot in the loose trio, might be utilised in the second row."

Th Stormers is not in a total failure situation of locks - they have Etzebeth, Du Toit and Schickerling - who scored a try against Los Jagueros - as well as some lesser candidates like Van Vuuren.   They have more of a problem at 6 - where they use Elstadt at present as opensider.
