Malherbe was always a bit chubby.

Agreed but in the past it was only a little weight now it’s far too much. A little poor for a professional rugby player really

Flab Malherbe always returns from injury fat. Lazy waster.  His weight causes him to lose balance at the scrum causing belly flops, probably the cause of his injuries.

If you don’t believe Ou Maaikie himself, he could always give Meyer Bosman’s mom and get a confirmation from her. That’ll snuff out your little BS theory.

Well, he seems to be better now than ever before. Maybe the extra flab brought him some ballance?  He reminds me of a childhood friend. Even while he was super fit, he carried a bit of a "belt" around the waist.  Just couldn't get rid of it...not even in the a rmy. Genetics I suppose .

He was always carrying a fair bit of extra weight. This was not a lean player by any stretch of the imagination. In recent times, he is one of the "chunkier" props we have fielded for many years. I think he'd be better if he lost the flab. Which is saying a lot, as he played very well last year, and consistently so.

Wilco is heavier at 133 kgs to a claimed Malherbe 120 kgs. But that was presumably without the belly.....heaven knows what Malherbe weighs now. In any case the overplaying of Wilco last year and then his sudden drop from favour for no hopers like Vincent Koch was another Rassie mistake. Wilco has the goods to be a great test tighthead.
