Folau has sold his principles by not fighting this in court. Didn't he say that he wanted to play rugby again...  Instead he settled for an out of court payment - and also pocket's the donations by Christians that were meant to pay for this legal case.  

Folau may feel vindicated because he got money, but what about other Christians? They did not get any money, and a Christian player is still effectively banned from the game. This means that Folau is banned from the professional sport for expression of his religious beliefs. How does that bode for the rest of Christian beliefs within society? 

Any Christian that paid money for these legal fees must feel like a mug...  Folau promised to fight this decision in court- and it was on this basis that he collected donations. Folau will not play again- because of his religious behaviour - that door is now closed... 

My guess is that the Australian prime minister who is a moderate Christian did not want to the ongoing conflict in society and contributed to getting this issue out of the media limelight. 

I believe if it had gone to court Folau would have certainly lost. Does Australia want to be the first country for doing this? - and while under the watch of a Christian prime minister...

Democratic law is very clear about discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender and sexuality. Folau is the aggressor because he is discriminating against one of these groups- but wants protection under the law for religious freedom of expression. He is using religion to discriminate against another group - while quoting the words of God to say the opinion is a fact. It shows a weakness in the law and a ruling against Folau would have established a precedent 

It is clear the beliefs of monolithic religions are discriminatory in nature. It is a conflict of ideology between monolithic religious and democratic values. In effect, a ruling against Folau in court would say that God discriminates, therefore proving the Bible to be morally wrong. 

Folau can spend the rest of his life being a reborn again hypocrite- giving speeches about how people should follow the word of God, while he himself does not. Just like famous people love to give speeches on Twitter about any good cause, but do not contribute real effort or time to the cause. Was Folau at the bush fires helping people... Of course not. He was just happy to use this cause to promote himself.    He can no longer use our sport as a platform for his hate speech. Australian Rugby has a new coach and can start a new chapter.

I don't like how things turned out either...and I don't like the way his denomination goes about things and I don't like how he went about this...I don't like some of the things he said and done, but I also believe that he should not have been fired for what he did.
