While Nick had all the answers in the studio, I couldn't help bu remember how predictable his RWC99 team was with Jannie de Beer. He didn't even plan a fake off the expected Jannie drop.

But he did get one thing right tonight.....the kind of physical play Potgieter executes in the S15......doesn't work in tests. Even the Bargie backs were putting away Potgieter, Alberts and Coetzee with ease.

Passing and running lines split international defences.

Bools rugby won't win this championship

Mozat

One thing that was clear when Mallett was coach - he could talk the right leg off a donkey - but when it came to execution he was clueless.   He was the one that brought in Gaffie Du Toit into the Springbok set up - so what else can you expect?    De Beer was  his "wonderkid"  - play clueless rugby - but try and kick a drop kick every ball.

He went on a sinilar verbal diarrhea rampage against Du Plessis when he was coach - dos he want the job again?   Must however point out a difference - Du Plessis started to develop a game plan - last night there was NONE.

Nick Mallett has the Springbok record for most consecutive test wins- I think 18. When he had Henry Honiibal at flyhalf their was much positive attacking and running rugby.

Jannie Debeer is a player much like Morne Steyn, although I would rate Jannie Debeer more than Morne.Jannie liked to kick the ball away aimlessly, but he was much better at passing and running than Morne- but that is not saying much. Later Braam entered the scene, and then the Nick Mallett era fell apart. Bob Skinstad became the play maker mostly standing at flyhalf position in place of the donkey of all time- Braam.

That rubish dished up last night was like the end of the Nick Mallet era when our players was hopeless.

The Springboks won 16 consecutive tests while Mallett was coach - but that was with a team put together in the first instance by his predecessor - not him.   The whole systemn fwll apart when he started with replacing players - he was clueless and came up with a colection of useless players like Du Toit and De Beer - the latter was slightly better than Morne Steyn - as you so rightfully pointed out - bit not much better.

Mallett could talk in the media like he was the biggest expert - but when it came to player replacement and development - he was clueless.
