Marcel 'scrummed out of his socks' by Marais

Five  straight dominating scrums by Charl Marais  saw the back of Marcel, who was monstered for 3 penalties. The usually sound Nyakane was then blown out twice. Marais also owned Malherbe in the Stormers clash.

Marais appears to be quite mobile, a good defender and full value in the mauls and rucks.

Yesterday was the worst pasting of a Bok tighthead I can recall. The sight of the vertical Marcel being carried away gesticulating in a wave of Cheetahs forwards says it all. Marais took 3 scrumming penalties off Marcel, one off Nyakane. 
How can Marais be ignored for Bok consideration?

 Here we have the proof. Four penalties for Marcel, 3 from scrumming. How this huge man gets owned by technical scrummagers is a bit of a mystery. But when you find a prop who scrums with as much power as Marais and is technically superb, he is going to challenge a lot of props.
