It was announced that Boshoff has entered into a contract to play for Connact for two seasons. I think that Ackermann was probably aware of the contract and that is the likely reason why Boshoff was not on the recent Lions tour to Japan and New Zealand.
Boshoff is the type of flyhalf that would fit into the NH style of rugby very well - he is a kicking type of flyhalf in the Morne Steyn mode and not a flyhalf that do well enough in SH rugby. The only difference with Morne is that he reads games better and does attack the gain line occasionally - but attacking play is not really his forte, kicking is.

Marnitz was a journeyman that went from one team to the next.
He was as I expected a one season wonder- and then returned to his usual standard. He reminds me of Braam Van Straaten- albiet a bit smarter.
He is not really much of a loss.

No - not Braam van Straaten - he is a Morne Steyn clone - albeit a bit smarter.
Yes - I do not really think he is a loss.

Exposure to the NH game will do him good.
Expect he'll find his confidence there and may even learn how to handle the pressure better.
Best of luck to the lad.

Ah gee Draad now you have made me feel bad....may he make all those pressure kicks and never kick directly into touch from outside his 22.

Nope Moz, I feel the same about some players. No need to feel bad. We should have the conviction to expess our true opinions on here.I liked what I saw of him in the beginning. ..until he did a Jantjies. Small wanted him for WP at the end of last year, but he's not really an improvement on Coleman. I kind of hope Kleintjie Carel will take to SR like a duck to water. Strong genes.

Pity about du Preez, Coleman was costly in the second half.

No great loss, solid enough squad player.......along the lines of Coleman, Brummer and co
