The following from News24:

"Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula has suspended the privileges of SA Rugby, Cricket South Africa and Athletics SA from bidding for international tournaments due to lack of transformation.

"I have resolved to revoke the privilege of Athletics South Africa (ASA), Cricket South Africa (CSA), Netball South Africa (NSA) and South African Rugby (SARU) to host and bid for major and mega international tournaments in the Republic of South Africa as a consequence of the aforementioned federations, not meeting their own set transformation targets with immediate effect," Mbalula said on Monday.

"I will review this decision when considering the results of the 2016/2017 Transformation Barometer."

Mbalula made the announcement during the release of the Eminent Persons Group on Transformation in Sport in Pretoria.

He said the South African Football Association (SAFA) had met its target, but lashed out at the slow pace of introducing soccer at private schools.

"In respect of the South African Football Association, I am delighted that SAFA has met its transformation targets. I will, however, issue a Ministerial directive to SAFA as a consequence of their poor drive to penetrate and roll out football in former Model C schools and private schools," said Mbalula.

He said the Transformation Charter was the load-star of the sport movement that drew attention to the immediate and inevitable necessity for the Sport System to Transform for both Moral and Strategic imperatives.

He said morally, it was "the right thing to do", considering the grave injustices of the past. And it was strategically necessary, because of the reality that 84% of the country’s Under-18-year-old population was black African and only 16% white, coloured and Indian.

He said to ignore this strategic reality, from a sustainability perspective alone, would be suicidal.

He said he had applied his mind to the aforementioned reality and had taken into account the strides made by men and women within the sports movement to achieve transformation goals.

"It is not my intention to disrupt the momentum gained from the implementation of the Transformation Barometer and the global competitive edge of some federations and sports bodies. However, I am mindful of the urgent task for federations to move with speed in the direction of providing quality of opportunities and access to the youth of our country," he said.

Sure Soccer is exempted from the ban - but then we must bear in mind that Mbalula is not interested in sport achievement - only in politics.  He would not mind at all if rugby and cricket slipped down the international ratings, like Soccer did.   Race-based selections are not the way to go and the man is a fool if he thinks otherwise.

Lets remember what happened  in the semi of the WC Cricket tournament when they insisted that a half-fit/still injured player Philander played in that match - the result was a loss and an exit from the tournament by the SA Cricket team.  Idiots never learn from their own mistakes and that is the case here as well.

However - due to a large extent to Government thieving and poor administration - the present poor economic situation makes it virtually impossible for the country to bid for international events and Mbulala is flogging a dead horse in this case.

this is going totally crazy,....... they are trying to hide their incompetency to reach (or at least to put in the way of) the social, political and economic equality with the sport, translating the issue to the sport,......

but what will happen with Ireland's tour and the Rugby Championship? are the RC games going to be banned in SA?

Anything is possible.  A major event is obviously test rugby, with a mega event a RWC. This will go to the courts if the intent is indeed to ban international events in SA. I am actually glad. This will force sport in SA to c hallenge these idiocy.

The transformation target policy is struggling to hide its purpose.

The situation in SA is simple: the resources are down, coming near depletion (courtesy of the excellent men)

Consequences: until SA manage to get some new lines in resources, a certain amount of activities can no longer performed or held.

It is quite simple.

In SA, the resources are gone, therefore SA can no longer afford hosting these kinds of events.

Instead of stating this simple fact, they prefer to link the impossibility to afford this or that to some failed targets in the transformation.

The only thing that successed transformation targets could change is the availability of resources coming from abroad.

Until that point, these kinds of events, that makes countries poorer, not richer can no longer be held on SA resources.

"this is going totally crazy,....... they are trying to hide their incompetency"

Many people around the world are struggling to hide the consequences of the excellent men 's ways. It seems that no human being is intelligent enough to manage that trick.

SA is in a relatively difficult case as the resources excellent men destroyed came from a majority.

Countries that get supported because the resources came from a minority still can kick the can a bit longer.

It does not change their legacy: a resource depleted world.

Traditionalist- are you by any chance stupid?
Countries that get richer each year have stable or reducing populations. Countries that get poorer each year- have rapidly expanding populations.
If a country gets 1% richer each year- that is 10% richer in 10 years as long as the population size remains the same.
Look no further than Germany, and the Scandinavian countries for countries that get richer by producing more than they consume.
China used to be a rapidly expanding population- but since becoming capitalist they are trying to stabilise the growth of the population. This is consumption of limited resources

Of course, the excellent men population follow the amount of resources available to be destroyed.

The point is simple: the better you get at destroying resources, the less people are going to be needed.

People more and more efficient at destruction, less and less resources to be destroyed, less and less people more and more efficient at destruction.

That is the path to destruction.

Producing more than consuming? Producing what? Value? That is the only way to produce more than to consume.

What is called production is usually another form of consumption.

The production of a cut diamond stone is the consumption of a rough diamond stone.

Once the rough diamond stones are gone, the so called production of cut diamond stones is no longer possible.

Producing more than consuming translates like consuming more than consuming.

So it is just a matter of valuation of various consumptions.

Valuations are situational and history has shown that you could bathe in money with few resources to consume or bathe in resources with little or no money.

@traditionalist,
Do you consume? I mean do you eat and breathe? Do you use a computer? Everyone consumes- even you. Replying to you is a consumption of my time.
If resources allow a consumer to invent better tools like computers- then more can be produced with less consumption.

What Cricket Rugby and Athletics should do is say they will not bid for the RWC, Olympics,  and other mega events until anc racism is removed from sport. Explain to these morons the economic effects etc.Main thing is dont be blackmailed by the nutters. Dont give them an inch.Jurie Roux to keep his job is bending over backwards.
I also wonder how all ths stacks up against the oft worthless constitution.
Meanwhile do choose another sport to support oaks. I watched an excellent final where Kei Nishokori played Nadal. Fabulous tennis. I especially commend tennis to all kbbs as they can get a feel for how a game shoudl be reffed honestly - coud be a life changer for them!. Bwhahahahahahahaha
Dr Moz these arrogant beasts have a majority and do as they please. They even support Zuma etc. Remember its only white racism that matters. You can expect all these overseas activists to remain silent especialy those in NZ. No dont expect any fair play or justice. Its not going to happen.

You have to give it to that guy: he is an excellent man.

Excellent men are used to dressing, staging. And what a dressing this guy is serving.

The situation is simple: the consumption of resources in SA is nearing completion. SA can no longer afford hosting these events.

Instead of stating that simple fact, this guy dresses it as the failure in achieving some transformation goals.

The state of the art as he bans every single activity that might be elected in case of a bid and allows the only one that has no chances of success in case of a bid.

The likes of cricket or rugby do not meet as fierce biddings as football does. Besides, FIFA let it known that they wish the SA WC to be the last held in Africa.

The only sport that is free to ask is the one sport that has no chance of a successful bid. The others have chances and are banned.

That is excellent dressing to hide the simple fact that SA can not afford to host the events.

"significant implications for tourism and trade. It's emotional and uniformed thinking."

Emotional and uniformed thinking? Who cares? The way to achieve a proper conclusion does not matter.

Tourism does not offset the consumption attached to hosting these kinds of events. It only adds to the consumption.
Not that the excellent men in charge in SA would disregard that outcome, they would welcome it. The problem is where to find the resources to consume when hosting these kinds of events.

SA are no longer enough so they must be found abroad.

Could SA bully other african countries into yielding their resources? Possible if SA were the only contender.

The likes of the Americas, China, Russia, various european nations, India etc are on the prowl to contend for the african resources. And SA cant bully them.

That whole transformation story is dressing to make trade relations smoother.
A full white squad wont sell. It would be way too easy for  the other contenders to point at SA and discredit SA from getting a share in african resources. A share that is desesperately needed.

Truly amazing ... they have 84% of the population (and counting) ... and STILL they're unable to make inroads.
Not in business ... not in sport ... not in anything!!!
Why is that?
Has anyone ever wondered why they're so damn pathetic?
I often wonder what would have happened to them had we never come to these shores. Would they still be running around in loin-clothes .. with their women bare breasted ... drinking sour beer from clay pots ... with a dirty scu-mmy froth floating on top?
Would they have discovered the wheel by now ... it's 2016?
They're a strange people ... who want desperately to be a part of modern man ... yet they're always 10 yards off the pace ...
Gazillions of dollars have been pumped into Africa over the ages ... and yet ... to this day ... they're still in need of rescue. It's a bottomless pit.
Is it any wonder they're always looking for handouts ... and when they don't get it ... they simply gatecrash every party ... forcing their way in ... there where they're not invited ... not wanted ... ruining it for all ... and believing it's their right.
A sad, pathetic people.

The problem in fat has nothing to do with sport - there is an election coming up in August and the ANC has problems from all sides.   On the left is the EEF - who is blatantly anti-White and uses the race issue to gain support among the illiterate voters, while in the center the DA is attacking them for gross incompetence.
In an effort to retain the votes of the illiterate the ANC must gear up and attacks the Whites and other races for the purpose of getting the votes of the racists - but in the center they are in serious trouble with the middle class voters because of scandals and looting accompanied by poor governance.
The ANC has also have a problem - about 8 million voters have no registered addresses and the ANC used this reservoir to cart them around to vote in wards where they are in trouble.   The High court has ruled that voters cannot be registered without identifiable addresses, thus rigging the election outcome.   The EEC has appealed against the decision - but it will be very difficult to correct that problem in the period allowed - even if the Appeals Court decide in favour of the EEC.  If voters without addresses is allowed to vote - the outcomes will be contested countrywide and that would end in another legal farce.
The latter problem may disenfranchise voters from the informal settlements - where a huge percentage of  the EFF supporters reside.   However, it will also reduce the impact of the rural voters without identifiable addresses - where the mainstay of the ANC supporters reside.
So expect some further anti-White attacks by the ANC to try and reduce the voters to defect to the EEF and the DA.

@Basque CC might be a racist who is insensitive to the long struggle of black Africans. But you my friend, I don't think you are much better. Tell me, do you go on about the Maori Wars? Do you preach to your fellow Kiwis about how a great lot of land was practically stolen(bought for sums that were only agreed to because the seller had no idea of the worth of what he was selling) from the original inhabitants of NZ? Such ethical trade. Truly a proud history and as usual, no Kiwi has anything to be ashamed of because as we all know, your genes are predisposed to perfection. Remember Basque, it's very easy to call anyone a racist. It's much more difficult to understand the roots of these things. As much as the Apartheid government is to blame for a ridiculously self serving regime, so to we need to allocate blame to other parties which have a) acted in only their own interest and b) only served to increase racial tensions within SA. What's the ratio of Maori to Whites in NZ? My guess it didn't start out that way. So regardless of the means, and unless Maoris enjoy shagging a lot less than Europeans, something happened along the way which a) has seen the European population overtake that of the original inhabitants and b) caused more than 50% of your prison population to Maori. Are you a white guy Basque? If so, then you're probably of European descent. Do you have a right to a NZ passport and do you have a right to equal and fair treatment which is free from prejudice by your government and countrymen? Does anyone in your country deserve to be treated better than anyone else? I'm 36 now, and was a child when the ANC began its rule of SA. I know, that I'll never stop paying for the sins Apartheid and I've accepted that. But please bud, don't try to point fingers because the land your ivory tower is built on is probably also stolen. Ok!?

Talking about the sins of Apartheid... Are these the sins like:

Providing better housing housing than that provided by the ANC. I can remember seeing the houses in the black township, Lynnville, as you enter Witbank from Pretoria. That was 50+ years ago and many of them were built even before I was born and that was 59 years ago. Those houses are still standing and there are still people living there today. How many RDP houses had to be rebuilt more than once and are still falling apart? How many RDP houses were paid for but were never even built because the "tenderpreneurs" got paid up front and never got to build them?

There is always the noises about the supposedly poor schools in the Apartheid days. If that was so poor, then how come there were so many blacks studying at various universities in SA? How did Nelson Mandela manage to become a successful practising lawyer before his arrest? Steve Biko was a medical student University of Natal Medical School. Oliver Tambo and Nelson Mandela both studied at the university of Fort Hare. Walter Sisulu was a business man and had an estate agency in the heart of the "white" Johannesburg CBD. Chris Hani also studied at the University of Fort Hare. Mosiuoa Lekota enrolled for a degree at the University of the North but was expelled. Govan Mbeki (Thabo's old man was also a Fort Hare old boy).

Providing medical services for blacks. The medical services that blacks received were any day on par with that provided to whites and at a fraction of the cost.

Yes, blacks did not occupy top positions in the work place but to say that they were subjected to slavery is BS. They paid for their services and they were cared for. All the mine provided medical services, accommodation and food for their workers. A lot is always said about the "poor treatment" of farm workers. I will not deny that there were farmers who treated their workers poorly but the vast majority of the farmers treated their workers fairly. I have seen that myself.

Bottom line is that while the idea of segregation is wrong, the "sins of Aparheid" is grossly exaggerated. The many atrocities of "The Struggle", on the other hand, is regularly swept under the carpet. One just need to read the final report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission to realise that. I have read a very large part of that report myself and I can understand why the ANC never like to discuss the total report and always choose to highlight the findings iro of the previous government.

How can you begin to justify Apartheid when the very nature of that policy was rotten to the core......depriving one man of his true freedom based purely on the colour of his skin can never be justified.

I am not justifying it. I am saying that nobody seem to acknowledge that the conditions were not nearly as crap as many would like to believe. How is Apartheid different from what we are seeing today? Is there anyway how anybody can justify anything that is going on in SA today?

Has the right to vote brought any better living conditions for the vast majority of South Africans? Is there any chance that the right to vote and the abolishment of the so-called Apartheid laws will have any improvement in the living conditions of those people any time soon?

More importantly, from a sports perspective, how can anybody condemn quotas/transformation, or what ever BS name you want to give it, yet condone the current political situation in SA? If you are in agreement with and in support of the direction the current govt is taking SA, then you have to support all this transformation BS as well.

The fact that what followed Apartheid is highly unattractive, at least in its implementation, doesn't mean Apartheid wasn't so bad. It was. And it was also incredibly stupid. South Africa had the chance after WW2 to invite in large numbers of highly skilled, displaced Europeans and went the insular route to protect political control.
And making enemies of your own people, many of whom actually spoke the Taal, was also stupid. Apartheid never had a positive destination for 80% of the population, it had to implode, it was just a matter of time.

That said blaming all current failures on Apartheid is dishonest. One only has to look beyond the borders to see Africa has a failing culture, which now seems  taken root in RSA. Corruption, violent crime, xenophobia and child rape are not the consequences of Apartheid.....but they are very recognizable as African maladies.

South Africa has always had choices and generally chosen badly. Now it has the choice of continuing to be a Western country or becoming a fully fledged African country. Apartheid is not on the ballot. Freedom and prosperity for the many not the few...is.

Moz, that's a debate for a different day on a different platform. I will agree with you that it's dishonest to blame Apartheid for everything that's happening today but that's not my point. Crime and the rape you mention did exist under Apartheid most of which never happened in White areas and most of which was never reported. Matter of fact I saw my first homicide from the verandah of my family home during mid afternoon at the age of 10. That case was never investigated. My baby brother was shot with a dum-dum bullet in the back and while he lay dying he was insulted by the murderer. The magistrate dismissed the case against the White guy. And if none of the above means anything to you let me assure you that gangs were dominant in the area I lived as well as in the suburbs, people lived in fear of their lives, stabbings were like the common cold and for decades these gangs and crimes manifested itself in communities under an indifferent police force. They didn't care about arresting the problem while blacks and colourds were killing and raping amongst themselves.
