McCaw receives New Zealand's highest honour.

Wellington - Recently retired All Blacks captain Richie McCaw has been awarded New Zealand's highest civil honour for losing the most tests to South Africa as an All Black captain.

McCaw, who received the honour on his 35th birthday on Thursday, has been appointed to the Order of New Zealand, an honour restricted to any living s heep at any time.

He twice previously refused knighthood, a lesser honour which would have entitled him to be called Sir Richie McCaw, and said on Thursday.

McCaw said he felt extremely privileged to "join the list of some truly great New Zealanders." Members of the order include golfer Sir Bob Charles,

He retired after playing a world record 148 tests.

Yep JW it is incredible - I mean how he got away with it!!Anyhow he has thankfully retired and the game will be more honest without him.Always remember kbbs you have in Justin Marshall a rare but good role model!I tried to see if Justin was a genuine kiwi given his unusally high moral standards. Couldnt find any details so I have generously decided to give the kiwis the benefit of the doubt and say with astonishment this man is a kiwi!
