The statement of Meyer at the return from Argentina is significant - there will be virtually no changes to the squad. Taking that into account there is really no change to the play plan as well.
His remarks about the Argentinian players also bordered on the hilarious. They are expereienced players plyoing their trade in France. They played excellently and put the Springboks under pressure. He also has aan experienced player - who played in France in his team - and that one showed absolutely nothing of any consequence.
So the flops stay and will be a burden on the SA team as well. That really is bad news all round. There was a flop - but NO correction measures will be taken - the flop team members will remain in the squad - and continue to flopk, whilst the out-of-date game plan remains in place as well..
I am getting really annoyed with Meyer's persistence with failed players and an out-of-date game plan, If that is to be his training career achievements we really are in a bad way performance wise. Expect a slip in the team rating sooner rather than later and two away losses in the Championship - bad ones at best.
When you start a teambuilding process - you are at liberty to change players who do not prove themselves - not to retain them and leave out talented alternatives - becaue they are "inexperienced". So the experienced flops stay on and the inexperienced ones do not get opportunities.
Meyer's record as Sptingbok coach is not really all that impressive. PLayed 5, won 3 and drew 2. All of that against lower-ranked teams.
