meyers game pattern is like being teleported back 30 years in history

watching burger taking first receiver on quick first phase ball. one off runners trying to bash over defenders. louw being raped at the breakdown. rubbish service from pienaar, just makes me feel like i am in the twilight zone.
if we could have seen that the japs where trying to gang tackle our runners why did jean or the management team not try to change the tactics and try to shift the ball out of the contact point ????
this is not ground breaking concepts but why do i feel like we are playing schoolboy rugby. 
we are the only country at this rwc where the 8th man receives the ball more of a ball 2de and 3rd phase ball and the flyhalf is roaming in some unknown area away from the ball.
i cannot for the life of me understand this. well i can now the proof is in end result

news flash boys all the nations are on gym conditioning programs those days that you can smash over players are over but it seems this is a tough concept for some to understand.
expect meyer to go ultra conservative the next game and try to out tactical the other teams which will only compound the issues even further, 
expect another round of aimless kicks not chased ext ext. samoa and other teams will lap this up for breakfast every day of the week.
can it be fixed yes but meyer needs to decide what he wants to achieve.

The structures are there, Meyer has the nous for playing a very modern and sophisticated style of rugby. Do we have have the personnel? We had a 9-10-12-13 who cannot pass. Not only can they not pass well but they crab and Lambie has a very short floating pass. Added to that we had little power in our carries and our centres had little effect. There is a relationship between forwards and backs: the forwards win quality ball, the backs use the ball going forward and the forwards surge from behind and the cycle continues. Our halfbacks and centres were blunt which put pressure on an already suspect breakdown presence. So shifting the point of contact would have done what exactly? Resulted in a lateral attack that was going nowhere and left us even more exposed to turnovers, and in more dangerous channels against a team with serious pace and skills! It's all too easy to criticize the plan and say we should have done x, y or z but it's a more difficult prospect in game. Hence why I was concerned before the game. Basi cally, we got caught like Wales got caught by Fiji in 2007.

What exactly hasn't he done that needs to be done as far as attack goes? I fail to see what else he could do that hasn't yet been done by the best teams in world rugby. The attacking structures put in place have been equal to the very best. You can only go as far as personnel will allow. Our next gen players give us few options. That's Why Willie is the extension of 10, he conceals the limitations of our poor centres. Instead of pointing to forwards, look here. If you want more backplay, look at our dead end centres. 

 I do not know how to respond to the junk written by DF.  Meyer has the nous - that is where I stop reading the crap he comes up with.  The fans wants what?   Players with limited capacity to adjust to modern day rugby?   The out-of-date game plan of kicking away possession and not keep the ball in hand?  the disastrous selection of a string of has-beens and never-has beens based on reputation with virtually no real performance record?
One cannot really understand the verbal diarrhea that flows from Desert Disaster - he is the same as Mozart - both their rugby brains have morphed in their prostate glands and all they come up with now ion this site is sh!t in bucket loads.

is the personal at fault for selecting no proper open siders ??? dont tell me francois louw is open sider...duane vermeulen is more a open sider than him. why was brussouw not picked ??? the breakdown recycling speed now is pathetic to non existent. coupled with this obsession of having forwards running onto quick ball is just destroying any chance the backline has to have any width and speed on attack.

he is clearly stuck between a rock and hard place with his style of play he wants to play but sadly for him the real players that could have made a massive difference to his issues are at home. 
we had the perfect pattern against the ab and wallies but he lacked the faith in the process he himself put in place to execute so that clearly shows he is not sure at all where he needs to go. 

 The "fan and media pressure" is to blame when meyer gets things wrong. When he gets something right it's because of his genius. Most of the time s.h.i.t. is sugar-coated and served as icecream by the Meyer Fanclub. It was bloodywell JAPAN! Biggest UPSET in the history of the game and in world cups for ANY sports code! There is no defending this!Political interference is not responsible for Coenie, Britz and Kirshner being at the RWC. Meyer is. Meyer picked someone who had his jaw locked, and wasn't able to eat properly for weeks to not only start, but to lead the team too. Meyer is responsible for his supporting staff as well. I don't blame media for creating pressure. Stupid people will always have a voice through the media, I blame Meyer for not standing up to it! I have made that quite clear. Kirchner and Schalk, Victor were the most productive players in that game. Our halfbacks and centres were outplayed, along with Steph and Lood.

Almost everyone are as one eyed as can be. "And remember you lot wanted a team that didn't kick or dominate the air!"I was never against a kicking game clever kicking is crucial to success. I always was and still is against aimless kicking.I was never a Morne basher or a Lambie fanboy either. I named a few players...and left out a few for brevity. We have a solid enough front front rowers. Good experienced and young players on both sides and two of the best hookers in the game. Why take Coenie and Britz? Both of them are solid enough, but not crucial and for all practical reasons hasbeens. Same with Zane. Not one of them had regular game time for the Boks, so they are rusty as well. Koch was dropped after one and a half games (playing injured), because he scrummed badly. Coenie was never a great scrummager and he isn't match fit.Jean is hopelessly not ready to start yet, yet he must be captain? Alberts is undercooked as well, still injured by the way.To me this is the most glaringly wrong inclusions...and Paige who doesn't even have one cap to his name. I just don't see the logic in any of that.
