"That has to be the worst refed game I have ever seen!"
Uh-oh . . . here we go.
I thought Garces was excellent.

There was nothing for him to learn.

SA was kept alive by NZ mentality, attitude and approach to this game.
SA were not better than the previous game, NZ was particularly poorer.

This game gives material to tell tales about SA rugby, which is the benefit.

SAns will fool themselves into thinking their rugby is on the up, through what is called a spirited defeat.
A loss by one point is still a loss. Losing by one point or losing by 51 points never wins tournaments.

It is material for TV and rugby watchers who largely prefer contested games.

It was not a competitive game as SA do not compete with NZ and they are from it.

The breakdowns appeared to be reffed well. There was lots of competition, but lots of quick ball.
Breakdown consistency is usually the most contentious area. Side entrances especially, when the camera angles also confuse this, or not.

Rooitwit you cant call a performance excellent when he gave a try that was not a try. The red card and even penalty was also very harsh.

"to the best rugby team in the world, and finish 2nd in the 4Nations. Well done Boks.

Baboon-ou, the TMO gave the try you blithering idiot.
Nothing wrong with the red card. Elbow to the neck. If it had been an All Black doing that to a Springbok you would need a a nappy change.
We're used to your pathetic bias, Baboon-ou, just a bit surprised to a statement like that from BokBF. If that's the worst refereeing performance he's ever seen then I question how much rugby he's ever watched.

The bitter twisted Trad is the only one to miss a great game. Beeno, it was a try....and the red wasn't even a penalty. It was dangerous, but accidental and not reckless. The missed penalty in front cost us the match.Marx was MOM and Pollard might be a better 12 than 10.

A contested game does not make a great game.

To get a great game, two great games are needed.
NZ was too off their average standard to be any close to great.
SA only existed due to NZ shortcomings.

The game fits the media bill: it was disputed. People had to keep to their seat to watch it to the end.

This is what the media require. For rugby to deserve to be in SA, it must win.
Close losses are still losses.

The reffing across the park on both sides and all of the officials. Maybe it's just that I don't like the French style of blowing a game.
