Blikkies Stormers definitely had an edge.

Add in Marx and should be okay.

Who else is doing better. Lions props not bad.

Should the Stormers win with this makeshift team the Sharks will be extremely embarrassed.

The Achilles heel for the Stormers this season has been at flyhalf. Whoever the Stormers play has been poor including Willemse. Their seems to be a complete breakdown in the position - and it waists the Stormers backline attack. The Stormers already have Delande to kill any promising moves- but he does have good moments as well.

Senatla is a gutsy little player needs a creative 13 to set him up. JJ i s not that player.

Oh dear Sharks score to win.

But proud of the guys, a makeshift side almost won. As things stand no point in going further too many injuries.

Congrats to S harks.

There was nothing in this game....nobody made a Bok case......Allende was having a decent game until he blew the tackle on du Preez to let the Sharks into the 22. Kleintjie Stephanie put in an honest shift. Am looked out of it, until his try....gifted by Lleyds over committing. Other than that Lleyds did well.

Moz the Sharks should have won this comfortably given the makeshift Stormers team

As Mallet is saying both team were not up to scratch. Glad we are not wasting our time being in playoffs. This side would not go further. M allet is now saying exactly the say thing. The Stormers are out on their feet with injures. Sharks have better chance. Agree.

There were four things I saw that enabled that last try: 1 The van Zyl penalty when we had them pinned deep-in the 22. 2. The break by Paul from the ensuing lineout, when he was well covered. 3. The missed tackle on Dan du Preez by Allende, allowing the Sharks to get within sight of the line. 4 Lleyds over committing allowing Am to step inside him and Senatla. What was du Plessis' mistake?

Good rugby genes runs in the family.

PSDT has become used to get the MOTM award and today his brother, Johan followed in his footstep by receiving the MOTM award.

Dos Tot had a decent game......actually had the mobility to make a few open field tackles and wasn't swanning out on the wing. I'd say he's a nice step up on older brother Stephanie.

What was du Plessis' mistake?

Way I see it, Am was Du Plessis' man while Senatla easily had Smith on the inside covered coming from behind.

Du Plessis though breaks his line to tackle Smith on the inside and Senatla coming through at chase pace simply overruns the inside break from Am, while Leyds is obviously trying to get in a position to cover Nkosi.

So basically Du Plessis, by tackling the inside man, forced a scramble across which always leaves defenders vulnerable to the inside step (which is why Du Plessis should have held his line). If Am had kept going straight Senatla had him easily too, but the step inside was more than Senatla's brakes could handle.

No question defenders overran, but Du Plessis leaving his line certainly turned a fairly simple defensive situation (where Senatla reigns in Smith, Du Plessis takes out Am and Leyds then gets the wing) into a more confusing one.

Good post Pakie, it seems pretty clear Du Plessis scrambled the coverage. My guess is he was trying to stifle the pass, but that's a hell of a gamble....which failed!
