Pieter-Steph du Toit could be back in action in three months. The Sharks youngster injured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the 36th minute of the Sharks 27-10 victory over the Cheetahs on Saturday. Du Toit underwent a knee stabilisation procedure in Cape Town on Tuesday, the surgery went well and the damage to the knee joint was not as bad as originally thought.   Early expectations were that Du Toit would miss the rest of the season which meant an end to his Super Rugby season as well as no chance to appear at the World Cup with the Springboks later this year. However Du Toit has revealed on his Twitter account that provided his rehab goes well he could be back in three months.

I am glad to see a player get good news but this does not sound like a miracle. It is more like there was high anxiety early on & now they have the facts he has a chance of being back this season. IMO they should protect the player & not rush him back. Seeing another high potential SA player thrown on the scrap heap because of poor advice & greedy coaches is not a good thing. His manager or dad needs to have a serious talk to him.

I agree with you in a;ll respects - I think Du Toit should not be playing in Super 15 - but should be used in the RC in July - August.
I think all the anxiety have been caused by newspaper sensationalism - so it may seems to be the reason for the statement on a miracle saving his season.
