Gone is the smooth stroke......he lost us the game today, no doubt. And the combination of Morne and Pienaar waste so much ball.....it's sad to see. As I said earlier this year, Morne is probably toast as a great goal kicker.

Among the Boks....Kirchner remains a klutz....he makes so many technical mistakes and he can't tackle. Let me repeat....he can't tackle.

Hougaard did good things and a few poor ones.  Habana was superb. Jean was anonymous again.....13 is not suiting him. Fransie was more energetic tonight, and made a good break (his first this year) but was  largely run over by Nonu.

Pienaar and Morne were shocking.

Our front row was ok until Dean Greyling came on.....this guy has to be dropped from the squad. Bekker was by far the best of the locks. Flip continues to miss tackles as we saw on Smith's try (Kirchner was also skinned).

The back row is much improved with Louw and we have to accept young Coetzee is just not going to impact against NZ.

Finally tactically....we tried about 5 long range penalties without one success. Kick it into the corners and build pressure. These kicks are only worth taking near the end of halves.

we dissagree on Coetzee and Louw (i think Coetzee is promising and Louw is very average) but I must say agree with all your other points. Gd post and I agree about the long range p kicks.

I think one sees more of Coetzee because of his ball carrier role.....but unlike Alberts, in this company young Coetzee can't impose himself. Louw is no Brussouw....but he does speed up our ball, and slow down oppo ball. We did much better in that  regard today....against McCaw, who is no slouch at the breakdown.

Coetzee has been a royal flop. Kirchner. despite what Moz says, has been rock solid. Offering us some real security at the back that we have missed for years. Louw bettered the sloppy McCheat, I expected that, but Brussow is still by far the best fetcher out there. Pienaar must be dropped. He was a much better 10 than the imposter he is at 9, he throws more than 60% of our ball back to the forwards, kicks the majority of the rest away and leaves scraps for the backs.

"In fact, South Africa butchered a certain try when Zane Kirchner threw a shocker to Bryan Habana with an open tryline"

"There were others who failed – his beloved Zane Kirchner didn’t inspire once more"

Just a few early comments on the Woolly Boolly......and he can't tackle. When Smith was through and Kirchner was the last tackle I knew we were dead. In situations like that I have seen Aplon nail his man....even Lambie might have pulled it off. Kirchner....no way!

I would like to call into question your beloved Cape Flop, Jean. Threw the ball directly out with Hougaard in space out wide, went for the grubber with numbers out wide and killed the move. He made several other botches. If Kircner made one mistake I can live with that, he adds so much quality we cannot drop him now. But Jean, not surprised to see you turn a blind eye to your blue-eyed boy.

Its  very easy to target one player to blame. Yes, Morne's kicking was shocking......but there's something weird in the air in that stadium.....some of those balls did strange things in the air, even for Cruden. But I agree he needs a rest. Lets see what Goosen can do for a full 80 minutes.

The braindead replacement was Greyling. Beast was having a much better game and his replacment cost us big time.

But for me the single most reason we lost this game was Pienaar. His kicking game was especially shocking and most of the decisions he made were the wrong ones. You can play any 10 in the world alongside him and it'll make no damn difference.

Mambo, you are going to be lambasted for saying that. You see, Pienaar is supposed to be the glorified replacement for another evil Bull, Hougaard. And to suggest that Morne is not the single most reason for every problem? Well that's just silly, apparantly. Do note how they avoid my thread with a screenshot of EVERY ball Morne had last week. They are too afraid to face their own fallacy head-on. Just mouth away elsewhere and bleat the usual nonsense. Very sad indeed.

I have supported Morne for a long time. He may not be explosive, but he passes well and defends often and better than critics imply. But he is an ordinary flyhalf in general play. His long suit is his boot , which was worth 6 points over a merely good place kicker. Now he is 6 points less than a good place kicker. He has cracked mentally.

He has to be replaced....and Goosen is not afraid to take over the job. This kid will make mistakes but he is as tough as nails.

The point is this, Morne is not the reason why the Boks are struggling in the backs. In fact, the biggest problem right now is the pack and our poor loosies. My screenshots showed exactly what Morne had to work with on every ball. My critics, who have been viciously ramming down my throat for years, will not dare to venture onto the topic. Yet still the insults fly. I did this exact expose last year, comparing Lambie and Morne. It was a ferocious response from the SuperSupporter groupies who could only muster more insults. The proof was overwhelming, but here I see the new SuperSupporter-esque horde won't learn either. What good was Goosen in general play? No better. Neither was Lambie. The penny just won't drop. Saffers rare just too stupid it seems.

Bullshit baffles brains - our forwards today did quite well - except for the troll Greyling.   Pienaar kicked away too many balls - definitely on instruction.   Morne could do nothing right - bad news that one.   Kirschner played like rubbish.

By the way Pienaar's kicks at times were effetive - but that is all one can say about his game.   We need a proper scrummie badly.

That is the real summing up of the game - useless three that should be gone from the Springbok team - soon rather than later.

That wa a sad performance. When are we going to learn that kicking down the opposition's throats is a pointless exercise.? How many times does it lead to our advantage? In fact the All Blacks scored a try directly from one of those. However the problem must also lie with the coach. Yes, it is high time Morne was dropped but Meyer seems to stubbornly persist with non-performing players. Greyling - what a howler! Pienaar had a great season at Ulster at scrumhalf so should be able to do the business for us. We make other teams look good right now.

As someone no longer in SA, there does seem to be some provincial nepotism. I note Peter Grant, who had a great season for the Stormers, doesn't get a look-in.

All in all a poor performance against an under-performing All Blacks outfit. We're very lucky no Sonny Bill, Dan Carter and Aaron Smith only on for half the game!
