It was the most onesided performance by a ref that I have seen since the Boks played the Wallabies in 2011. So many Bok infringements were never picked up, like the Willie forward pass that was so forward it looked like it was going behind the Puma defensive line. The Pumas were nailed for everything. I can't recall a game where a team was guaranteed advantage each and every time the opposition touched the ball or applied any kind of pressure on your ball (guaranteed advantage off those mauls was horrific!). It will be interesting to see how the Boks fare outside of South Africa. Something I'm quite stringent about is eliminating the use of the ref to police the opposition out of the game.

Yes it was a disgrace….a direct consequence of Harrasmus’ anti ref tactics.

No the consequential ‘squealing’ (sic) came from Hun Harrassmus.

Fuck - this is amazing - we have on site two idiots who pretend they know the game  of rugby and now pretend they are expert referees.    Can discussions on this  get  any serious content please.    .

I already deconstructed the Erasmus video….it was  marginal and often wrong. Go back and read it if you want content. I could do the same thing for the Bargie test, but why bother.

South Africans have no problem with the referee because they won.

I agree  As soon as they play outside South Africa things will be alot more difficult and we will hear the 2 year old director of coaching throwing out his toys again.

"Didn't catch the game but I do hope that what Aug reports isn't true."

Everything Omlett ever says is either exaggerated, ignorant or biased . . . or a combination of the three.

"Can refs not just get it bloody right!!!???"

No, they can't. We've been through this so many times. If refs and umpires make mistakes in other sports that are much simpler to officiate, why should we expect rugby refs to get it right all the time in a sport that is much more complex and has far more laws that have to be applied?

Huh?

Of course we'd all love refs to be right all the time but it's never going to happen so just accept that the most qualified and experienced people for the job are doing their best and stop bleating like a baby.

"why should we expect rugby refs to get it right all the time in a sport that is much more complex and has far more laws that have to be applied?"

Too complex to get simple things right...after TV replays?...We've seen some shockers over the years...nobody is asking for perfection, just for consistency and a clear process of evaluating performances...no accountability is a recipe for desaster...

Rugby has not embraced real professionalism just yet. Too much money is involved on too many fronts to cary on like an old boys school fraternity.

I 100% agree that refs can’t get it right all the time. With TMOs though, it’s rare for a blatantly incorrect try to be credited.

What is bothersome is where one gets a sense that refs are overlooking offenses on the part of one team, by over focusing on the team they ‘expect’ to offend.

The Boks have sometimes been in the cross hairs. The Bargies and the French as well.

My own belief is the refs have been looking the other way since the Harrasmus tape. The scrums were a case in point last Saturday, where Malherbe’s side went down almost every scrum and it was never his fault even though the belly flop is a feature of his scrumming.

The Harrassmus vaccine has worked, but it  is unlikely to travel.

It eventually catches up with you. NZ aren't protected like they were as sentiment has changed. South Africa are becoming a less liked team by the day already. Most unpopular world champions ever? And not because of results, but because of the sourness, arrogance and mediocrity of this era. When it's time to fully reap what Josè has done, it'll be hard to set right.

For me, getting it right, means that one shouldn't get the feeling that, exactly as stated above, the ref's eyes are constantly focused in one direction and certainly with the benefit of replays should not be making some of the howlers we've seen before and continue to witness.

I still think the WC final was very much blown in SA's favor. Like we could do nothing wrong until it was too late for England to come back.

Perhaps we'd have won anyway but that isn't really the point and honestly, the victory felt a tad hollow as a result of what I perceived to be bias i n SA's favor.

Unpopular opinion but there it is.

Basically, just clone Owens already.

The defensive stand on our try line could easily have resulted in a yellow card...we were penalized a few times IIRC? Game changer right there. We've been shafted do much in the past, I don't feel bad at all when we get the rub of the green every once in a while.

As for Saturday...he got a few wrong both ways...the Argies are known to be disruptive and negative on the fringe of legality...Saturday it backfired a bit.

I'm still angered by José's use of Kolisi's hue. Over the past three years there have been coaches fined, banned, sacked for racism that never was. To have refs now afraid to displease a black on top of the pressure to do their job... it's not good. Reffing has been a problem since the ELVs, it became a tool to achieve a certain aesthetic and then to police teams out of the game. I absolutely hate that, it makes the game unwatchable. What José has done is take us even further from the ideal; he has damaged the game and diminished its appeal. To the typical plastic Saffer this is fine, so long as it's benefiting us, those who are true rugby fans want to protect the game.

I did a Google search for one of your posts, and found that the same phrases were repeated hundreds of time by you. Searched on Ruckers for certain players and catchphrase insults, and again, there you are, repeatedly posting the same content ad nausseum.
