Mostert is Keo's man of the series...

Lood, Steph, Kitshoff, Malherbe, Kolisi (third test aside), Wiese, van Staden, Nche, Marx, Mbonambi were some of those worse than Mostert.
Missed too many tackles you say. Who has missed the most tackles of any Bok under José and Krutch? Stephanie. It's not even close. Mostert gives you that level of involvement, but with far less risk.
and missed far too many tackles
Well let's compare Mostert at 7 in test 3 with Du Toit at 7 in test 1.
Tackles made/missed:
Mostert 13/4
Du Toit 13/4
Penalties conceded:
Mostert 1
Du Toit 3
Runs, metres, defenders beaten:
Mostert 7 12 2
Du Toit 5 8 3
Player of the year who gets fawned over game after game vs, apparently, a non-entity. Spot the difference.
When you look at match footage and see what those numbers look like, it becomes even more apparent who the better player is. Mostert has lateral defence. How many primary tackles did Mostert miss? Numbers in context.
Eben was very patchy in this game.
KEO must have been on the white stuff again. Mostert failed badly in line-outs in the second test and when De Jager came on the scenario changed and balls were not throw to him afterwards. He still flopped badly in open field tackles and is a dead loss as a loosie
Anyone comparing Mostert the feeble to Du Toit is talking tripe of the worst order. Du Toit was sorely missed yesterday because of his constant harassing of the opposition backline. H e would have neutralized the Lions flyhalf yesterday like he neutralized Ford and Farrell in the WC final. There were no loosie pressure on the Lions flyhalf yesterday and Mostert was part of that deficiency, . .
"failed badly"
"buggered up"
"messed up functionality of x"
"aimless x, y, z"
A load of waffle with no references, no evidence.
Steph, the 17th best flank in SH rugby, has never been brilliant. Only two good tests. Anomalies.
That was his production throughout 2019.
Org taking his daily pasting.
Man of the series was Eben. The guy was magnificent.
Eben by a landslide, not even close...Mostert has heart, but Du Toit is much better.
How can Steph be the best in the world when he has the most missed tackles of South Africans, and barely scrapes in at 30 for carriers in South Africa. His production wasn't top 10 in any category in the World Cup. Myth. Nothing more. Eben had some misses, got penalised and had some trouble in asserting himself. H e didn't dominate.
...Eben dominated more than any other forward...he had no more "misses" than Mostert... Mostert is a fine player, but not nearly close to being best Bok of the series...only 2 days ago you called Keo a coke-head, now you aggree with his BS?. ..maybe because it suits your agenda?
Du Toit is not better….he gets more camera time. He is never used in the lineouts, because he is iffy. Why have a bean pole who can’t be called on to make the catches at the back? Have we ever seen him take a long ball…not in this series for sure.
Mostert plays to the ball….Dud Toit is far too often gumming up the backline as he was when Duhan dumped him…..physical?
Dud Toit’s assigned role in the WC was to rush onto Ford….an astute call because of his dithering style. And flank could have done that, but Dud was effective no question.
As for this physically bs. How many metres did Lomp make after the first tackle yesterday. Nada! That’s right. These beanpoles don’t…..not one of them, not even the super powerful Etzebeth.
Very few players can assert physicality in traffic. In recent memory Vunipola and Alberts come to mind….both very strong, blocky chaps.
Dud Toit is overrated. The Boks played better the moment he left the park last Saturday…..his role confuses things. Mostert is underrated.
One of the few things Keo has got right.
Dud was a Dud Dave, live with it.
A Dud won WRPOTY...
Yes like we missed him in the second half last week……hahahaha….get real.
Yes we should have had Elton on the field in all three test and voted him in as player of the series.
Mostert and du Toit play their guts out each and every game for the Boks but hardly get any credit for their efforts from some bloggers.
They have earned their honors both on and off the field of play.
Thank you.
There are no passengers in the side...it's a good side...it's a good squad...pity this team didn't play last year...
Kolisi, outside of the third test, was a passenger. Damian, Wiese, Lood, Steph... the production has been so anemic that only a lunatic would say everything was fine. The loose trio combined for 21 metres. Lood, 1m in 2 runs. Look at the missed tackles. This was not a good performance, not one test was a good performance by the Boks. A true fan would not accept this, a true fan would be concerned. Not every side we face will be inept or substandard like we are. Our entire pack amassed 44m in the whole of the second test.
I trust the coach and the waterboy...the Bokke were seriously undercooked, but pulled it off. Our 4th match after a long layoff...against the best of the NH minus France...a very good result when viewed in perspective...now we have 2 matches vs the Argies to further work on things before we take on NZ...pity we gave them all the home advantage, but it is much better than we could have hoped for last yeae this time.
Lucky Lukhanyo was my man of the series. Played in all 4* test matches and hardly set a foot wrong.
He has been impeccable on defense not only individually (lol Daly) but also in the team effort and although he hasn't had much time on the ball going forward his contributions changed the outcome of the series.
Trusted with the captaincy for the A game and down to identifying the space in a micro second to put Willie away down the sideline for Kolbes try.
Unsung hero of the Bok midfield.
Indeed, Am has been a revelation since he first put on the Bok13 jersey...fantastic player.
Am is intelligent and authoritative. Imagine what he'd do in an All Black jersey?
Apparently Itoge is the Lions man of the series…
Itoje was good in the 1st test, a grub in the 2nd and awol in the last one. Laws or Henshaw imho.
Itoje stood out...as did a few others.
Henshaw would be my pick.
Scores with Dud Toit on the field: Lions 31/Boks 28
Scores with Dud Toit off the field: Lions 16/Boks 35
Definitely Dud Toit for man of the series!
