Mozart

You miss 70% of what happened on the field of play and use and abuse limited data in your assessment of players.    Sometimes the data is skewed by you anyway. So keep on being a person who is too prejudiced to give any objective assessment of player performances.

How is the data limited? How has it been misused? How is his data more limited than yours? What makes your data less prejudiced?

Like those stats on Mostert  Pakie.....really got stuck in.

How's Kwagga... third test......comes on and 15 tackles in 15 min...unreal.

We win Cups by tackling....Sean Fitzpatrick from 95' agrees.

Mostert is a largely unappreciated player. Remember in 2018 when we won in NZ and everyone was putting PSDT on a pedestal for his 24 tackles? Well, Mostert also made 24 in that game, missing only 2 vs PSDT's 5, but he was hardly mentioned in the accolades.

Here's Steph's first half from that game:

Both the two misses were open-field tackles and those are the most dangerous to miss.  - in two subsequent games Mostert missed two tackles - both resulting in tries  for the opposition - resulting in Erasmus removing him from the starting line-ups in all major games afer the fiasco he caused in the SB game,

Yes, Auge got all the players from both teams together the monday after the game to run some plays for him to film and make a video out of.

Yes, you caught me red-handed. I enlisted the services of some helpful fellows at my local drama school and we reenacted the entire game. Just to deceive the entire board. I would have gotten away with too, if it weren't for your keen eye for detail. Thankyou, thankyou for redeeming my soul.

At minute 34 you see Etzebeth holding up an All Black and Dud actually contrived to pull him down. You have to give Stephanie an A for effort. But it’s so undirected…..and particularly destructive when he gets in the backline….a guy like Retallik has so much better a sense of when and how to pass the ball.

Dud is not the worst Bok in the last five years….but contrary to popular opinion, he is by far not the best. Nor is he an essential like Vermeulen as the Lions series proved.

BOD, when asked to name 4 players of the series (two Lions and two Boks) picked Henshaw, Itoje, Am and Mostert.

Those would be the 4 players I’d pick, with Henshaw my MOS….no pun intended. He almost single handedly  brought a bit of classical backline play to the series.

A bit of Mostert's graft in the series. Plenty of tackles, good rucking and counter rucking contributions as well.

Pakie I see you have been swept up by Mosterts heart and energy There was absolutely zero physicality in any of that footage except of course when he was part of a gang tackle or hitting a ruck with his mates The guy is all heart and energy with minimal physical productivity - not what you want from a Bok lock in the engine room That footage proves it It also happens to credit Mostert for a Lood and Eben passage of play

Mostert is the Juan type: A solid 'do your job' type, with no fuss. It's easy to take these people for granted, and then they are gone. You feel it hard. South Africans don't appreciate the best of what they have to offer as a nation. A bitter people who seem to form an intense hatred of excellence and earned success. There's a happy place of mediocrity that they feel comfortable with.

Brilliant tackle by Mostert on Watson in space, after he skinned Willemse and  Am. DudToit never makes that tackle…never in a hundred years.

I’d love to see the back of Mostert and I’ll tell you why Etzebeth, Lood, RG Snyman, Jenkins, Ruben Schoeman, Ruben v Heerden, Ruan Botha, Moerat, JD Schickerling , Lourens Erasmus, Walt Steenkamp, David Meihuizen and David Ribbans are all more physical and better options than Mostert at lock PSDT, Jacques du Plessis, JL du Preez, Ackerman, Brink, Kirsten, Liebenberg,, Paul, Elrigh Louw, Tshituka and Cobus Wiese are all more physical and better options at 7 than Mostert

But the brilliant Rassie and all the pundits you so admired when they were picking Dud Toit in the WC, disagree.

It’s not just that he does well when he is involved….he is involved far more often than any other Bok player because he reads the game,

Dud Toit huge effort, randomly applied….Mostert huge effort at the right place at the right time.

Rassie saw the light and dropped Mostert in the WC The only reason Mostett finds himself back in the starting side is because of the absence of Lood, RG and PSDT Mostert knows the system Mostert huge effort no physical impact PSDT huge effort with a big physical impact Spot the difference

So much impact that we lost the period he was playing by 3 points and won the remainder of the series by 19 points. All this physicality is of course total balls….hit Lomp or Dud and they go down like a sack of potatoes.

Nonsense Dave. You're so blinded by your bias against the guy that you can't see the wood for the trees. Look at that half against NZ from Steph that Auge posted and tell me where you see him making any physical impact on his own. Lots of tackles, little else.

Moz a result is not defined by a single player Pakie I’m not stupid enough to define an entire career of PSDT based on some footage posted by an idiot like omelette The same idiot that posted footage of de Allende telling us he was defined by that footage when a simple YouTube search paints the real picture No bias when it comes to Mostert, his physical make up defines his inability to impose himself physically - it’s not rocket science

"Some footage"

I've spliced more. Outside of the Twickenham test of 2018 and the home Wallaby test of 2018, Steph's games look exactly like that Wellington test. You plastics called it the greatest performance by a Bok ever. How embarrassing for you.
