Rating Mozart's favourite players this week is easy as pie - so lets me do it:-
His favoured players
Jannie du Plessis - his natural treasure - 4/10
A week after the Stormers props showed them up badly - Jannie du Plessis could do near to nothing against the Chiefs props. He did squat the rest of the game.
Victor Matfield - 3/10
He came on from the bench - contributed near to zero to the performance of the Tight 5. His main achievement was giving away a convertable penalty - which was dually converted by Sias Ebersohn. Bearing in mind his determined effort to lose the game for the Bulls the best rating he could get is 3/10
Francois Steyn - 1/10
He was the worst possible performer and deserve a negative rating
Players hated by Mozart
Marcel van der Merwe - 7/10
Could have done better in scrumming - but he played a major role in the Bulls Tight 5 and did score their only try through brute strength.
Lappies Labuschagne - 7/10
The best forward in the Blues set-up doing the worlk the seriosuly deficient Matfield failed to do.
Jan Serfontein - 6/10
Physically he did well in the game, but his decision-making with overlaps outside of him and instead doing crashballs on at least 2 occasions - leaves question amrks about his performance.
JJ Engelbrecht - 4/10
Was not up to standard in every department of the game
Patrick Lambie - 8/10
A top class performance in every aspect he was involved in - he was the real match-winner for the Sharks.
Cobus Reinach - 8/10
A all-round pe rformance Reinach should be proud about - he and Lambie combined well to win the match for the Sharks.
