In a strategic move, Munster's Coach Clayton McMillan has made just one adjustment to the team's lineup for the upcoming Vodacom URC quarter-final clash against the Bulls. This Saturday at Loftus, Alex Nankivell will take over the outside centre position from Dan Kelly, marking a critical change as Munster aims to counter their injury challenges.

Nankivell, who sat out during Munster’s recent victory over the Lions in Limerick, is set to bring fresh energy to the squad. Additionally, the game will witness lock Fineen Wycherley making a notable return from injury. Not just any game, this match will be Wycherley's 150th appearance for the Irish province, a milestone he will achieve coming off the bench.

Despite their solid lineup, Munster faces significant hurdles with a long list of injuries. Absentees include key players like props Tadhg Beirne, Oli Jager, and Michael Milne; locks Edwin Edogbo and Jean Kleyn; flyhalf Jack Crowley; centre Tom Farrell; and wing Calvin Nash. This spate of injuries leaves Munster somewhat vulnerable, yet the depth of their squad suggests they're still a formidable opponent.

"Every match is a new opportunity, and despite the injuries, we have players stepping in who are more than capable of performing at the highest level," McMillan stated optimistically.

The Bulls, aware of Munster's predicament, are on high alert for a battle against what they anticipate will be a fiercely competitive side. The looming quarter-final promises to be a riveting encounter, with Munster not only fighting for victory but also battling to overcome their adversity with a significantly adjusted team.

Teams for the weekend:

MUNSTER – 15 Mike Haley, 14 Andrew Smith, 13 Alex Nankivell, 12 Seán O’Brien, 11 Shane Daly, 10 JJ Hanrahan, 9 Craig Casey (c), 8 Brian Gleeson, 7 John Hodnett, 6 Jack O’Donoghue, 5 Evan O’Connell, 4 Tom Ahern, 3 Michael Ala’alatoa, 2 Niall Scannell, 1 Jeremy Loughman. Bench: 16 Diarmuid Barron, 17 Josh Wycherley, 18 Conor Bartley, 19 Fineen Wycherley, 20 Gavin Coombes, 21 Ben O’Donovan, 22 Dan Kelly, 23 Alex Kendellen.

This matchup at Loftus will not just test Munster's resilience but also showcase their ability to adapt and compete under pressure, traits that have defined their journey in the URC so far.
