And then we have the case of the left-out commas.......... Ah well, maybe it is too much to ask from some to pick up on the typo.

Just a question - what is a bye against a stronger opponent?   Factually a bye is when the team is NOT playing any team  - so is the bye against some mythical  team dreamed up by …. ???

School children with poor comprehension skills. Le sigh.

"Wants to see how he does before their bye   against strong opposition.

What? His performance.

When? Before their bye.

Who? Stronger opposition (Bulls).

I feel like I'm teaching declensions here.

Silly Billy

Thanks for inserting the word "before"  in the sentence - now it is clear at last,  Shows what you should think before you write your normal tripe on site.  Listen to my advice  carefully before you become sillier.

So lets analyze the above statement carefully.   In round 4  the Sharks are playing the Bulls - then they have a bye in Round 5 and voila which team are they playing in Round 5?   The Chiefs of course - the team beaten by the Brumbies by a massive margin and in the next round at home was beaten by the Sunwolves - the bottom of the overall log team,

Ag please Silly Billy I am wasting a massive amount of time in trying to teach you rugby related issues - am getting desperate thinking that I am throwing valuable pearls of wisdom before a  swine.

But I am a very generous person and will keep on trying,

"Before" was there from the beginning. How many times must I teach the ghastly trio how to read? You keep making the same basic comprehension errors time after time.

Silly Billy

So neither Rooinek and me did not see the word - weird!!!  And what about the stronger team myth?   Teach me I should read your tripe more carefully - but it is so shallow and rugby i gnorant at all times  that it bores me.

All in all please think before you write tripe.   If Esterhuizen did not bugger up in Round 3 and was so excellent as you said he was would Du Preez not have kept him in the team for one more round before the bye week and give him a break against the Chiefs - suddenly promoted to be a strong team by you?     \\

So neither Rooinek and me did not see the word - weird!!!

Uhm, Rooinek actually quoted the word in his response, so obviously it was there. Although the way you put it with the double negative technically means that you both saw it (not sure how you know what Rooinek saw or didn't see, though - probably the same way you know what Du Preez is thinking).

Yes, you see, that is why he said a strong team before the bye. Which clearly refers to the Bulls, not to whoever comes after the bye. This isn't that complicated.

Let's insert commas to make it clear:

wants to see how he does, before their bye, against a strong opponent

or as it could have been a little more clearly put:

wants to see how he does against a strong opponent before their bye

Well Pakie, adding the comma would make it less clumsy and using a correct sentence structure as in your second example would be even better, but let's all stop pretending this his original sentence did not imply they would have "a bye against a strong opponent".

It's a must win for the Sharks ... they aren't resting their best players as Doos would have you lot believe ... they are in fact playing what they think to be their best side against the form South African team.

A win away from home against the Bulls would boost their confidence ... get them back on track ... it's just what they need after such a poor display against the faggots from Cape Town.

You don't reward poor performances with an additional game. That's not the message you'd want to get across.

Doos doesn't know his arse from his elbow and so his best way to cover his idiocy is to make the usual excuses for the bungling Estie.

"He's been rested" ... "it's rotational" ... it's week 4 for heavens sake ... you cannot tell me the poor dear's tired after only 3 weeks into the comp ... but then again watching him play last week, maybe he is in need of a break.

Truth is that Estie was very poor last week and deserves nothing less than to be benched ... in fact, he's lucky to be on the bench at all.

Such a useless signing.

Best thing the Sharks could do is to fire this pretender and go find a real inside center.

Can't wait to see how they go with their bye against tough opposition. Wouldn't miss that for the world. Is it being televised??

Clutching at anything to stop themselves from drowning, even each other.

So all those saying that it's not rotational and that Esterhuizen was shit are also saying that Ruan Botha was shit as well and Bosch is not better than Rhyno Smith at 15.

Smh.

"My desperate efforts to educate the Village Idiots on site are rarely successful "

In order to successfully educate someone, the first requirement would generally be that you have greater knowledge... The fact that you are RARELY successful speaks for itself...

Shouldn’t it be more or less something like this: “Well Pakie, adding the comma would make it less clumsy and using a correct sentence structure, as in your second example, would be even better, but let's all stop pretending. Peeper has a problem with sentences. He constructs these long meandering sentences with several topic thoughts. When you combine that with his Standard Six vocabulary it makes for a poor read.
